I have been on this diet (4:3) in 5 weeks and 6 days and I have lost 6,8 kilo :victory: .. I am SO happy - been to a lot of different diets during the years, but I really feel this is the first time a diet is working for me without starving myself..

For the first time in years, I am soon below 30 when it comes to BMI  . Right now it is 30,15...

Happy happy me...

Pia
Good to hear your story - Well done.

I feel exactly the same about it and I thank the day when i first heard about this way of eating!
That's great news! Well done & yes, I also agree completely. X

Well done Pia. You have every reason to be happy. Its good to share your joy.

Can I ask, do you count calories on your non-fast days? I've just gone over to 4:3 to try and speed up the weight loss.
Well done :) It's a great feeling isn't it?
Thanks everyone  . I really love this way of loosing weight. and

Miffy - YES I do count calories, not very strictly but still. I have this thyroid problem and taking Eltroxin for that (underactive Thyroid), so it has been very difficult for me loosing weight before. At the moment I have about 400 cals on fasting days and between 1200-1600 on normal days... I vary my intake on normal days. Not so much in weekdays and then more in weekends.

Maybe in time I can stop controlling calories on my normal days - I must admit I have not tried just to eat what I want  . I am afraid to eat too much and gain weight instead  .

Hope you will succeed if you start 4:3. For me it has been a good journey so far :victory:

Thanks Pia. I would like to just count on fast days but I have counted for so long I just don't feel comfortable eating freely on feed days and always end up filling in a diary. I keep reading about people who get away with just doing 5:2 and happily munching their way through the non fasting days and I suppose I'm jealous! I don't have thyroid probs but I do have limited mobility and sometimes wonder if I'll ever see target. Its so inspiring to read about you acheiving it.

Hi Miffy.
It IS hard work loosing weight... but I am sure, this is the way of doing it. Like you I can't stop counting calories. I wish I didn't need that, but I am afraid, that I will eat too much. The first weeks I was about 1000 - 1200 on all my non-fasting days ( a little bit more in weekends) and then about 400 calories on my fast days - 3 times a week. And it did speed up the weight loss - at least for me. During the week switching between fast/non-fast days I don't weigh myself, because I am sure it sometimes will go up after a non-fsting day. I don't need to see that on the scale. For some people it is motivating to see how it goes up and down - for me, once a week and always after a fasting day is enough for weighing myself  . I am chicken maybe  , but I guess we all find a way, which is best for us.

By the way. I don't do any exercise, walking around during my work, but no special training or so...

Miffy.. I am sure you will see the target - Sometimes it just takes time. Just keep going and don't give up :like:

Thanks Pia. You are giving me the encouragement to keep on going. On my sensible days I know that I am starting to feel better from the point of view of my general health but I do so wish I could shift the weight a bit faster. I suppose I've been patient this long so a few more months shouldn't matter!
Exactly Miffy :like: :victory: .
