Delighted or Disappointed?

I just put on a pair of trousers I haven't worn in two years. I have more energy than ever, lots of people have done a double take (especially ones I haven't seen in a while). I just feel great  I can't believe 12kg is gone, gone, gone!

To all those who have been on a plateau, I sympathise as I had more than a month of no loss, or what I call 'the trampoline effect', where I lost and then put back on after a feed day, even though I was being careful with calories. I have seen other posts about a loss/stall/loss pattern and that's exactly right.

I am stubborn, so I just gritted my teeth and got on with it and that has paid off. I encourage everyone to keep the faith - it DOES work :like:
Congratulations Honeybee! You must feel great:)

Awesome! Well done!
Since I'm new at this can I ask you a question? Do you eat normally on non fast days or do you count the calories?
Honeybee that's brilliant. Thanks for your post it's people like you that help people like me - I put on 2lb this morning which take me back to where I was 4 weeks ago. I will keep going and soon I'll be saying I've lost 12kg. Thank you.

Hi Iva,

As my BMI is still high, my sedentary TDEE is about 2100 calories, although I have been sticking to about 1900, partly because I find it harder to eat bigger portions now! I eat normally in the way that I will have a choc biscuit or a piece of cake, or a latte if I fancy it. I just stop there and don't have a second or third one! I do use myfitnesspal to check the calories, more as an education for me than anything else.

I think the key to all of this is actually noticing what you are eating, how much of it you are eating, and when you are eating it. I found the weight crept on over several years of having blinkers on. I was eating big portions for my evening meal, and doing plenty of snacking during the day too.

I really wish I had known about this WOE five years ago :frown: I could have saved myself a lot of heartache.
