Delighted or Disappointed?

Hi,
I'm actually doing a 4:3 diet and i fast every Sunday, Tuesday and Thusday.
Fasting comes very natural to me. I rarely feel hungry and its been like that since i can remember.
This is why i thaught the 5:2 diet would be perfect for me.
Sadly, i lost only 3-4 kilograms in the past 3 month of the diet.
I weight 127 Kg and to get to my normal weight would take forever...
I feel fatter and weaker in comparison to what i was before i started the diet.

Maybe it is worth to mension that i'm a third generation to holocaust survivors..
One of my grandmothers was in Auschwitz concentration camp for more than a year feeding on one slice of bread per day. My other grandmother survived for two years in bergen belsen eating almost nothing.

I went for a test for calorie consumption and they told me that when i don't eat my body enters to an extreme calorie saving mode. They told me i even breathe much less when i'm fasting.

In the last time i lost 30 Kg I needed to run more than 50 Km a week combined with a strict diet inorder to lose weight.

Sorry for the long post but i just want to know if there is any point in continuing the diet or it is just not for me.

Sorry for the long post

Thanks
Hi Napo - sorry to hear you've not experienced the average 5:2 loss, which is around 1lb (just under 0.5kg) a week.

Can you tell us a little more about your situation please? Do you know your current BMI or can you tell us your height so we can work it out? How much do you need/want to lose?

Also it would be very helpful to find out how you do your fasts, eg do your fast days last for 24 or 36 hours? How do you split your calories and what sort of things do you eat when you fast? How about your feed days, do you know roughly how many calories you consume then.

Sorry for more questions, but it may also be useful to have an idea of your age too and whether you do much exercise at the moment.
Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
My height is 183 cm, i'm 31 years old. 27% body fat according to the latest test i took (real test made by by proffesionals). According to my diatition i should weight 100 kg. i know it sounds alot but 2 years ago i was 100 kg with 12% body fat.

in my fast days i drink black coffe with no sugar in the morning. Only water all day and 500 calories or less at night. On my feed day i eat cornflakes with milk and coffe in the morning. Usually i skip lunch on my feed days (not on purpose, i just forget to eat...). I eat quite big meal on the evening of the feeding day. i fast 3 days a week not only two.

I cannot exercise much on my fast days and i stopped running.
Actually the reason that i gained the extra 30 kg is because i stopped running. However, i swim 45-60 minutes every morning (even on fast days)

That is all

Thanks again
is it possible you are not eating enough?
