Delighted or Disappointed?

I am disappointed - with myself! I have put on 5 lbs this week and therefore MUST have been overeating and overdrinking. I did 5:2 Sunday, Tuesday and tried 16:8 on Monday and Wednesday, and intended to fast again yesterday but caved in after I saw the awful gain on the scales.
I now know that I CAN'T eat anything I want during the 8 hour window! I also found myself having a few drinks on those days, although up to now on 5:2 I have only been drinking at the weekend.
We are off to stay with our daughter for the week, and she is also on 5:2, so I intend together my thoughts, regroup and start again.
I WILL do this, but I think it is going to take a loooooong time.

Hello Slimmer, that's a lot to put on in one week just by overdoing it? One pound of fat is 3000+calories so you would have to have eaten over 15000 extra calories in a week. Chances are part of it is fluid retention or some other thing that conspires against us!
Please don't be too hard on yourself. Good plan to regroup with your daughter and come up with a plan- two heads are better than one and the moral support in person has to be useful. Enjoy your time with her and, yes, you will do it. We know you can! :clover:

Don't always trust those scales to show the fat you are losing !

Wednesday this week I went out for a carvery (a family birthday) yesterday morning I had apparently put on 6 lb !!

Yesterday was a fast day and this morning all that extra weight has gone plus I lost another 1 lb from last week :)

I'm sure a lot of it was a tummy full of food and the increase in digestive juices required to process it all. Also noticed it is spring tides...if the gravity of the moon can move the seas I'm sure it can effect our bodies water as well :)
