Delighted or Disappointed?

I've been on this WOE since the middle of January and can honestly say I have never stuck to a 'diet' for more than about 8 weeks before with cravings and guilt getting the better of me.

But this WOE has been revolutionary to me. I'm not finding it difficult at all and I'm not one of those here worrying about what I eat on my feed days and I haven't given a thought to my TDEE (is that what it is? I'm so not bothered by it!) I eat cake, crisps and chocolate and the only exercise I do is walking the dog.

I usually weigh myself once a week on a Saturday morning and found since losing the initial stone quite quickly I've slowed down to half to 1 pound a week loss. I didn't weigh myself last Saturday as I was away on a girly weekend in Ibiza staying in an all inclusive hotel drinking Bailey's and cocktails  but still made sure I fasted for 2 days the week before I went and 2 days the week after.

Got on the scales this morning and 2lb's have come off :victory:   :like:

So I've lost 17lb's in total and I feel amazing!
Well done!!!
I love it too I have lost 1.5 pounds this week and had a week off last week as was on hols too eating cake etc!!
Well done for fasting on holiday. We have just returned from 2 weeks (Baileys and cocktails too) but guess what? Have put on 8lbs. Yesterday had a fast and this morning the scales read even higher. Not too worried though and know that we are sure to lose it and carry on to the target.
Meanwhile I did make some oat and fruit traybakes yesterday as part of the need to keep busy. Can't give cake up!
 Well done, it is pretty amazing I too have never really stuck with any diet long term, the most successful was WW but I got caught up in buying their products and eating stuff that I would never of had before...and when it ended I put on half stone again....5:2 is the way forward!! Keep up the great motivation and attitude.
Well done :>) It's so good to eat what you like and lose weight!
Well done on your loss so far hope2 pigs. I feel the same, it's the longest I have stayed on this diet and there's no sign I am going to stop anytime soon. I want to tell everyone about it but I have to stop myself and only tell people that notice my weight loss and ask about it. I have 2 parties this weekend and looking forward to the food and especially the cakes, yum. Now who says that when they're on a diet :)
Well done hope2pigs,
that's 17lbs you will never need to see again!
If you're anything like me you try diets/weight loss strategies and weird and wonderful ways to dump the fat, with a sinking feeling over time that you are destined to be involved in a losing battle! Then you find that's its all much more simple than you'd realised. We can choose to eat in a way that we have evolved to eat (not regular and not consistent) and suddenly we are 'tuned in' again.
I do appreciate that not everyone has found this as straightforward a process, but stick with it folks and your bodies will thank you!
I've lost 10lbs in 7 weeks and 2 inches have disappeared from my waist. I also feel brilliant; so positive and motivated. I believe I can have a life where my weight isn't a nagging source of worry! Every 1lb is a small 1st round victory, with the winners podium in sight! :victory:
'What you dwell on is what you become'. I have spent years dwelling on how fat I feel, how there's a bump here and cellulite there, how the scales read too high. Now I'm dwelling on feeling great, fitting into smaller sizes, a strong vision of how I'm going to look knowing I'm going to hit my ideal weight and stay there!
Sending positive thoughts out there to everyone following this WOE. Stay Strong x
I feel EXACTLY the same way as you. Like I've been given a gift. Well done you!!! :-)
Isn't it great to be losing weight while eating cake five days a week
Yep - same. On it since January. I have only lost a couple of kilos on 5:2 (I had lost 3kg before I started - the old fashioned way - and it took 12 months!) but I am the lightest I have been since I was 13.

The fact that I haven't regained is such a huge deal. Even when I haven't been that well the last couple of weeks and quite stressed at work. THis has surely got to be the key - because every diet works IF people can stick to it and this is so easy to stick to.
Well done hope2pigs,
I started 5:2 on 14th January and I too have lost 17lb. I rarely weigh myself as I felt unhappy every time my weight went up instead of down but this morning I did, what a surprise, I'm now exactly 10 stone. My BMI has dropped from 28.89 to 25.76 and I've lost nearly six inches off my waist. I'm feeling elated! I know I go over my TDEE most days but I'm still losing despite gobbling down the goodies several times a week!!

So, not only is this WOE good for my health it makes me HAPPY too

Woo Hoo!
Congratulations on your success! It is an amazing strategy for many of us. It seems too good be true but really makes sense when you do the math. I love not feeling deprived on my feast days. I should weigh myself only weekly, like you do, but bad things generally happen to me when I stay away from the scale (that's how I put on over 20 pounds last year) so I'm doing the daily weigh in still...even with all the daily fluctuations...
YAY! Give us courage to go on, we surely need it!
