Delighted or Disappointed?

Hello all,
I have been a 5:2 faster since March and thought it would be the ideal way to lose weight for my wedding in August. I have not found this WOL too tasking, and definitely feel it is the way forward when it comes to maintaining my goal weight... when i reach it! HOWEVER, my weight loss is slow. I think overall i have lost 3 or 4 lbs and am now starting to think about a way i can step it up a gear to kick start the loss. The biggest success for me has been inchess off my waist, so I know I should be happy with this, but I know my goal weight is achieveable (this is what i weighed 6 years ago) and am frustrated that i can't seem to get back there.
Anyway, aside from wanting a rant - any advice on kick starting a better average loss? I have seen people mention 4:3 or a liquid fast? I don't do much exercise (a bit of jogging and walking aside)and i have the feeling i may need to address this to make a difference.
Wedding is in 10 weeks, and first dress fitting is in 4 weeks... HELP!!!
ps I have been a forum stalker/replyer since March but only just worked out how to create my own topic this morning. yay!
Mazzimaz, I hit a plateau for more than a month (losing and gaining the same kilo over and over again) and since 4:3 wasn't helping, I decided to do something to kickstart my weight loss again.
I went on Dukan's website, did the real weight calculator and in the end it said that if I did the attack phase for 2 days I would lose 770grms.
I gave it a try for two days (keeping it low calorie as well) and lost 1 kilo. I then continued with 5:2 as usual (those days were 2 of the 5 because what I ate exceeded 500 calories but it was well under my TDEE).

I cannot tell you the exact results after a week since I am expecting my period today but, still, I am -750grms after a weekend of eating and drinking A LOT. I am thinking that if today was any toher day I would probably be -1 kilo and if the weekend wasn't a crazy one I could easily be -1,5 kilo.

I don't know if this is something of your liking but I could tell you my 2-days menu and see if you fancy doing it. I am very pleased with the results and I'm doing it again today and tomorrow, moving my fast from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Well I can only tell you what has helped me, in the ten weeks that I have been doing 5:2, lose an average of 1.05 kg/2.3 pounds per week. I average my TDEE over the five feed days, some days I'm over, others under, but over the week it works out to 5 xTDEE + 2 x 25% of TDEE. I fast Mondays and Thursdays, and three weeks ago I made my Monday fast liquids only (water and black coffee) which seemed a natural progression from the evening-meal-only regime I had been doing from the beginning (and that I still do on Thursdays). I don't worry about what I eat - chocolate, ice cream, cakes, wine - as long as I stay within my TDEE over the week. I started with a BMI of 32.79 so obviously had a fair bit of weight to lose but after ten weeks I'm halfway there and have found it quite effortless, so it's working well for me.

I wish you the best of luck! :clover:

I am interested, TML! Tell me more...
Fredi, it's rather easy.
On Monday I ate:
Lunch omelette with 2 eggs and an extra egg white, 3 TS low fat cottage cheese
Snack 4 slices of low fat turkey ham, 2 TS low fat cottage cheese
Dinner one packet of surimi (crab imitation) with sauce made of low fat yoghurt, mustard and spices
On Tuesday I ate:
Lunch one packet of surimi, 100grsm low fat cream cheese
Snack 4 slices of turkey fat, 2 TS low fat cottage cheese
Dinner 1 grilled chicken breast with sauce made of low fat yoghurt, garlic and spices

Today and tomorrow I am doing the exact same but I;m having smoked trout instead of chicken.

If you want more ideas here's a sample menu: http://mydukandiet.com/dieting/example- ... phase.html

Here's the true weight calculator: http://www.dukandiet.com/calculate-your-true-weight were you can see how many days of attack phase will make a difference (seeing your BMI I'm guessing two, just like me).

Edit to add: this is my sort of journal since I started doing this: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=5245
Thanks TML! I had actually been wondering about my true weight, so that was really interesting to see!
I might try something similar on Friday and Saturday of this week. I could do with a 700g kick-start at the end of this week.
Thanks again!!
My two days was around 800 and 1150 calories, followed by a 500 calories fast. I think it helped a lot!
TML I am striving to loose my last 5 lb and have just done the Dukan weight check and have just been told I am 2lb under weight. :victory: Except I still have a layer of fat over my tummy, so I will battle on and see if I can shift it. Thanks for the link anyway it means I won't be beating myself up about being a failure. :like:
Mazzimaz Sorry I hijacked your thread and forgot to add the bit for you. I sometimes find that if I cut out carbs and sugar for a few days it really gives the weight loss a boost.
Nessie, if you struggle to lose weight from a certain area, perhaps you should consider to do something locally. Mild exercises, creams, massages, using a very hard bath sponge, all these will help together with the diet.
Thanks TML I do sit ups but I may start attacking it with a back brush.
Get a cream. Not an expensive one, just something to help it.
Wow thank you all! Soz for delay in responding, I am a bit new to forums and had been checking the wrong tab for replies to my thread... i thought nobody had replied!
TML this is great - thank you for the links and menu suggestions. Also Nessie, the carbs and sugar tip too!
I love how a little encouragement and suggestions from somebody helps keep you on track. Thanks all! x
You are most welcome!
