Delighted or Disappointed?

Today I made the silly mistake of going food shopping when hungry on my fast day!! Bought 2 pots of jam, a Goan fish curry and frozen calamari in batter. Not that I am going to eat them today but - I never buy preserves, precooked foods or those in batter!! I have just proved myself wrong about that! However, I wont be doing that again.
Hi hope you did ok in the end, I did that yesterday and not to bad put it all away then went for 5 mile walk, rested for a while plus hot drink then went for long soak in the bath before starting evening meal, but sometimes goes wrong and start eating so yes best to avoid shopping on fast days, good luck on your journey. :clover: Sue
I have the opposite.
Shopping on a fast day saves me money but leaves the cupboards empty!!!
I am much more careful of what I buy as it has to be healthy and fit in with 5:2.
I just feel sorry for my OH!!!
Generally a fast day food shop starts out with good intentions and then gets shoved into a non fast day, very quickly. Usually because a shopping day includes having lunch out, which is usually the only treat of the week.
Only done it once! I didn't go home and eat all the rubbish I'd bought, I put it away nicely 'for tomorrow'. Tomorrow came and I looked in the fridge and though, 'what on earth!!' You do fancy the daftest things when you're hungry! I stick to shopping on non-fasting days now when I'm more sane and sensible!
Weird what you do on fast days isn't it ..... I often do the shopping and bake bread

My masochistic side coming through
I'm with Old Nog on this one Mondays fast is accompanied by food shopping, bread and cake baking... Oh and sausage rolls as well today, so can't wait for tomorrow :)

SNAP! I tripped over the same brick. My supermarket trolly arrived at the till with Maltesers (2 boxes!), Cadbury's caramel bars (pack of 3 and supposedly bought for husband in hospital but they've already gone!), and Magnum choc-ices x 3 (also eaten). I hereby promise this Forum that I will NEVER again go supermarket shopping on a Fast day.
I can happily cook or bake. Thats no problem. Maybe its because I have to shop at the end of the day.
I don't have a problem with shopping on a fast day. I find it makes me more aware of what I am buying.
