Thank you for the support everyone. Gillymary I have definitely had some stalls and some weeks where I've gained weight! I quickly moved into one 500 cal meal on fast days and then realised as I was preparing my meal that I wasn't hungry (about 3months ago) since then and after seeing wildmissus post about trying a 36hr fast I have moved onto zero calorie fasts twice a week. I have black coffee, water and diet coke which sees me through, this saves an extra 1000 calories over the week and actually doesn't bother me now at all, although I wouldn't recommend to anyone just starting out!
I also discovered that I didn't 'need' breakfast as soon as I woke up, before 5:2 I was convinced I would keel over/feel sick if I didn't eat immediately, this meant breakfast at 6am on a working day and by 10.30 (break time) I was starving and usually succumbed to biscuits/bagel or snacks. I now delayed breakfast until 8am and I no longer get the mid morning munchies! I am also more flexible with meals, if I have a brunch breakfast at the weekend I skip lunch.
I am by no means perfect and still have the odd blowout and eat a huge bar of chocolate in one sitting or a tube of Pringles, but I have found over time this is lessening as I now avoid buying chocolate in big bars or I allow myself treats but only if I've baked them, this means to get a chocolate cake I need to make a chocolate cake! Sometimes I do and the family benefit! My partner bought doughnuts home yesterday which I'm not overly keen on, I ate one and then declined any more as I didn't want to waste my calories on something I don't even like that much, instead I had a small whispa, this would have been a different story 6 months ago. Things are changing and I like it.
I hope your stall comes to an end soon
