Yay, first week weigh in!
02 Feb 2013, 17:39
So I've done my first week since deciding to do this. I did 5:2 and on my fasts skipped breakfast, had late lunch about 3pm (around 150 cals) with the remaining cals in the evening.

I know I did over eat on at least one of my feed days.

But I was still pleasantly surprised to get on the scales this morning and see a loss of 3.8lbs :D I don't feel it was a struggle at all.

My first fast I felt hungry, and a bit tired and headachey. The second I definitely felt less hungry, maybe about 4 times during the day and was totally managable. Was still craving foods but not overly genuinely hungry.

On the second fast I felt light headed and headachey as I drove home from work and found it hard to concentrate. But I got home, had more water and paracetamol and I suddenly got a second wind! I felt great all evening. Not overly hungry and not even craving foods. I wasn't at all irritable with my husband (who is ill at the moment and I do try and be sypathetic but find myself short of patience at times) or kids. Lots of patience and energy. Stayed up later than norm and felt well the following morning :D

So a couple of ups and downs but definitely a positive first week. I can see me following this forever!!!

Well done that is a great loss. I weighed in this morning following first week of 5:2 and was a little disappointed with a loss of only 1lb! But I haven't exercised as much as usual (I like to run and the weather has put me off this week) and also went to friends for dinner last night and over indulged on food and drink including a lovely toffee crumble and cheese and biscuits so can't really complain too much!! Will be keeping this up though as I do feel less bloated than usual and have enjoyed the fast days. Off for a run now and looking forward to a slightly better loss next week!

I wouldn't be surprised if you had a fantastic weightloss next week... this is quite a usual pattern. Don't be disheartened, keep going and see how much you lose next week.... :D

Well done!

Unfortunately I have gained nearly a pound in my first week. I also found the fast days pretty hard. I will keep trying but if I continue to gain I will have knock this on the head... it seems a bit of a tortuous way for me to get fatter.

Thanks Ch1ckpea - not disheartened really just was expecting a bit more after reading about everyone else's successes. A loss is a loss and I don't really have loads to loose.

Just did a four mile run, first run really since I have fasted and found it fairly 'easy' so hopefully I am seeing positive effects in other areas!

Looking forward to fasting again tomorrow and another loss next week

That's great Witchy! You must be happy. :D

Feel some sympathy with Glenda. I put on 1.5 pounds last week (see my thread on putting on weight in Progress Reports).

I'm in it for the long term so keeping going, but understand you must be fed up in the first week! :) Give it another go!
