I was highly discouraged after 5 weeks of no loss and now I am suddenly losing again. Second week in a row I've lost 2 pounds. I am now basically half way to my goal. So don't give up.

That's great - it shows that if you stick to this WOE the weight will come off
That's fantastic! I agree, the best best is to persevere. I recently had a long plateau (due to an underlying medical condition) and while it was frustrating, I figured my options were keep trying and maybe succeed or stop and definitely fail.
So glad you're almost there!

yes, I need posts like this. I was the same weight, give or take, take or give, for 6 weeks. Then there was a drop. I will have faith. I will persevere.
Thanks I needed that.
I have hardly lost any weight in 6 weeks so keep thinking of things to do eg 16.8, 4.3 ADF,
But think I should just stick to 5.2 and keep going.

Well done! I also plateaued for a couple of weeks, and then managed a decent loss again, so it happens all the time. I think it can help sometimes to mix things up a little. I added a third mini fast on top of my normal two, and also made sure I had a day when I ate plenty. Being hungry all the time doesn't help me, and I don't think it helps my body either as it slows down.
Thank you. I also have stayed the same weight for the last 6 weeks but I'm not giving up. Ok, it could have been another half stone off but I'm one and a half stone down and I know I would't have lost any weight at all without 5:2.
Ditto .... I'd stayed the same for the last 3 weeks without doing anything different, but this week, again without doing anything different, I'm looking at a 3 lb loss so have caught up again. Weird how our bodies respond sometimes but seems to work out in the end. This is not a quick fix but a long-term sustainable weight management plan.
When I was doing this I felt that I was the plateau Queen, I almost gave up on more than one occassion and I'm so glad I didn't. I DID get there in the end but I do understand how frustrating it is to feel it is all for nothing when you could be eating your way through house and home. It really does work but it's not always as easy as you hope, but, IT DOES WORK!Honest,

Ditto!
I have been on a plateau for weeks now and very disheartened and disappointed.
I will keep going though, even if I didn't make my interim target for my holiday.

I like the whole idea of persevering no matter what the scales say! It is really encouraging to read of other people's experiences. Thanks everyone!
Hi - I really needed to read your post. I seem to be losing so slowly and almost at a standstill, and sometimes feel quite disheartened. With a week off for holiday too I managed to gain a couple of pounds. BUT the thing that really keeps me going is feeling so much better for fasting, and hearing stories like yours. I so hope I start to actually loose again soon, but even if I don't I will persevere as it feels healthy.
Thank you
Thank you
I think I may be at the start of my first weight loss plateau since January and it's very helpful to read these encouragements to persevere no matter how long it takes to push through.
(NOT that I will give up. This is definitely not an option for me after such great health and weight loss results.)
I am trying to relax, knowing that this lifestyle is here for keeps whether I lose more weight or not. Yes, persevere!

Well I am reading this post to give me hope. Today I have put on 300g. Very disappointed but I am going to try to focus on where I went wrong and fix it for next week. This is only my 4th week and here I am putting on instead of taking off.
Yes, but look at how much you've lost emsy - what's 300g between friends, it's just your scales having a hiccup!
