I've done it! First target reached!
After having a hysterectomy five years ago (for a strangely named 'borderline' tumour) my world has now changed for the better, and at last I am beginning to feel better about myself. I had got into a mindset of thinking that I should be allowed treats all the time, because I deserved it! Hmm, that way lies a slow road to flab and even though I joined a gym four years ago, the weight carried on going up, so I knew that exercise wasn't the answer for me.
Now I feel in control- I work in the garden for hours (weather permitting!!) and if I go to the gym or go for a brisk walk (by the sea) I feel pleased without the guilt that I ought to be doing it every day- in fact I don't do either more than once a fortnight. I know that it is 5:2 that has enabled this. As my TDEE is quite low I have used MFP to get a feel for calories (never counted before), and keep to 400/500 on two 'fast' days, a bit under TDEE on three days and splash out at the weekend. I'm also very interested in the other health benefits of fasting, so am hoping that I can sustain this WOE...
I've just set my new target, good luck everyone.
