Delighted or Disappointed?

I had been stuck on a plateau for around 4 weeks and was really losing heart. I've been faithfully 5:2ing (haven't missed a single week) and increasing my activity level. When I got into the plateau I decided to give 16:8 a try, no calorie counting (I was determined not to undertake anything I couldn't - or wouldn't want to - carry on into maintenance).

After 2 weeks of additional 16:8 (which has been harder than I thought it would be), I may finally be on a downward trend - I've lost about half a pound (250-300g) this week, so 4 kg in total (a 9 week period). I will admit I had really hoped I'd have lost more by now - I am going to a ball on Saturday night and had hoped to look really great, and feel a little deflated now. Based on my progress tracker it will take 15 weeks to reach my goal - into October! :-( I had also hoped this week finally to cross into a "healthy" BMI and I am still JUST over.

But I do still feel vindicated - my loss is, I have to admit, pretty much right on track with the rest of the forum. I also may not have really taken on board till now that this is a "for life" change - so what if it takes till October?

I will stay the course.
I bet you look gorgeous and your husband thinks so too. Have fun! Were in this forever! Its going to take me 38 weeks to get to goal and I dont care how long it takes. Have a great time on Saturday night!
You will look great! You are only a cats whisker from the healthy range and that's only a guide anyway. I bet you will have that inner glow from healthy living and eating well that shines through. You will be the only one even thinking about your weight. Just go and have a brilliant time. Hubby should be proud to have you on his arm!

A little chuckle for you, when my hubby first lost weight we went out for a meal and a lady I knew quite well just blanked us both. She was our local practice nurse and I knew her both as a colleague and from the practice so I was a bit taken aback. A couple of weeks later Hubby had been to the surgery for some blood tests and came home laughing. Seems she hadn't recognised him and thought I was out with another bloke so she didn't dare speak! You never know, people might think your hubby has a new partner!
That is such a funny story, miffy49
I am sure you will look gorgeous , you have lost 4 kg plus you have been exercising so I am sure you toned up. Enjoy your ball.
You will look gorgeous
Have a wonderful time at the ball!
