I had been stuck on a plateau for around 4 weeks and was really losing heart. I've been faithfully 5:2ing (haven't missed a single week) and increasing my activity level. When I got into the plateau I decided to give 16:8 a try, no calorie counting (I was determined not to undertake anything I couldn't - or wouldn't want to - carry on into maintenance).
After 2 weeks of additional 16:8 (which has been harder than I thought it would be), I may finally be on a downward trend - I've lost about half a pound (250-300g) this week, so 4 kg in total (a 9 week period). I will admit I had really hoped I'd have lost more by now - I am going to a ball on Saturday night and had hoped to look really great, and feel a little deflated now. Based on my progress tracker it will take 15 weeks to reach my goal - into October! I had also hoped this week finally to cross into a "healthy" BMI and I am still JUST over.
But I do still feel vindicated - my loss is, I have to admit, pretty much right on track with the rest of the forum. I also may not have really taken on board till now that this is a "for life" change - so what if it takes till October?
I will stay the course.
