Finally got breakfast sorted
24 Jun 2013, 18:49
At last, breakfast after a fast day isn't the start of feeling I want to nibble all day. I've found that two eggs, scrambled with a little butter but no toast or other carbs, is what works for me. My 'other' breakfasts all had carbs in greater proportion and seemed to make me want to eat even more of them for the rest of the day. Now, apart from a small glass of cloudy, organic, apple juice to go with the eggs, that's all that's needed for hours. Those carb cravings were really worrying me before. :)

Has anyone else found a similar mix that works?
I too find a protein based breakfast is much more satisfying and lasts longer than a cereal. I was finding that I just wasn't satisfied and kept opening the fridge for 'something' until one day I nibbled on a little meat from previous night dinner and I was fine until lunch.
I have similar to you - a cheese and tomato omelette (2 eggs, cooked in butter) usually keeps me happy till lunchtime - still occasionally get mid morning munchies. If I haven't got any tomatoes in I use a handful of frozen chopped peppers.
Ah, similar patterns then. Thanks, folks.

Am adding a little smoked salmon to the eggs tomorrow. Bliss. :)
I don't always want to have protein so sometimes have porridge and that doe the trick too, especially if I add a dollop of coconut oil. A few months ago I would have considered that sacrilege, now I just consider it delicious! Love the salmon for breakfast btw.

I've never been quite satified with oatmeal for breakfast but I bet with the coconut oil it would be filling and satifying. Fats can be very satiating and yummy. ;)
It all sounds delicious but now I don't have breakfast any longer, I really miss my yummy porridge. It is true that its really good for you isn't it? Or have I been misled on that one too? Am thinking of having it for dessert on a non fasting day maybe with some fruit. What do you think? Thanks
