5lb holiday blues
29 Jun 2013, 06:44
Well it's official, I put on 5lbs on my hols

I came back last Sunday and weighed, but thought I would give it this week to "settle", but alas, the truth was staring at me on the scales this morning :starving:

Ok, so, mind focused and off we go again.

To be fair I have not been dieting this week, lots of catching up with people and a work do, so no surprise that there was no change from last week.

Off to the gym now, and although I have a bbq tomorrow, back to fasting. Plan to do 4:3 for a bit to get me back into the swing, bring on Monday!!!!

Oh dear that's such a shame for you. Hope you had a good one though, it would have been a sin to have not fully enjoyed your holiday because you were thinking about food.

At least you know how to shift those lbs now, should go real quick :like:

Oh bad luck but at least you know it won't take you long to lose that 5lb again.

I'm facing 5 days in New york and a 14 night all inclusive (stuff yourself buffet as my 10 year old son calls it) sunlounger holiday all within the next 2 months. Am rather concerned what the scales will shout at me on my return! This all follows a month of stagnant weight and fasting difficulties. So last week I started 4:3 (2 days 500 cals as always and 1 day of fasting all day but having a sensible family meal and not worrying too much if its a tad over 500 cals) to try to kick start things again and prepare for my hols.

Well it worked and I lost 4lb (since I last weighed 2 weeks ago) which in reality is only a 1lb loss as I had put on 3lb before that. Hence the need for a kick start!!

Easy on, easy off weight, don't worry about it.

By the way, a 5:2 barbecue is totally possible, I blogged it a while ago http://imcountingufoz.com/blog/52-barbecue-3043

Hi well its more important to have a good holiday, I must have gained about same as you earlier in year didn't weigh-in coz it felt I had, but fasted day after my return + careful all week so when I stepped on scales next week I was same as day went away ( bit of a mental cheat )
So my advice is just behave this week coz that's the joy of this woe its so flexible, good luck this week :clover: Sue

Thought I'd pop in and say that I gained nine pounds on a two week cruise in May! It took me three weeks to almost lose them and then I had a ten day holiday in Germany! I came back from there, last Saturday, four pounds heavier than my lowest weight since starting this WOE in January. This morning I had lost five pounds, so all of my holiday regains have gone with a bonus of an extra pound!

All of this is to let you know that we now have the tools to get rid of holiday weight on our return - something which I would never have managed before -in all my years of yo-yo dieting. So, enjoy your holiday, however you want, and just get right back to 5:2 on your return!
