just fed up .....
29 Jun 2013, 21:40
Feeling fed up and a total loser tonight! I weighed this morning and 1 1/2lb on but not official weigh-in day so haven't added to tracker.
reading everyone else's success stories makes me think that I'm doing something wrong as I seem to be going 2 steps forward and one step back. I've been on a non fast today and I think I feel worse cause I'm feeling full whilst reading about your success. I have a christening tomorrow so no fasting then either-and to make things even worse I can't find anything to wear!!
Sorry for the whinging guys but I had to tell someone :frown:

Were you gaining weight before starting 5:2? If so you may find that you need to address some of your eating habits on non fast days. I was pretty stable with my weight before beginning 5:2, so initially I lost weight without doing anything different, but as time has gone on I've tweaked various things (like eating breakfast later to avoid mid morning munchies) which has speeded my weight loss (only 1.5lbs a week though). Also found I lose weight in chunks rather than a steady weekly loss so sometimes on an official weigh in day I have gained weight! I am a daily weigher though and found using a daily weight tracking app helpful for keeping tabs of my progress whilst seeing a downward trend.
Don't be too disheartened, my weight fluctuates enormously over the week (by 5-7lbs sometimes!) chin up, it does work :0)

Hi Annieliz Come on girl thought we were doing this together so one day at a time so today wasn't good and tomorrow you're at a christening.
Well Monday it is then pull you're socks up and we'll both fast together on. Monday as for clothes have a good look around you will find something that fits + is ok. But after one month on let's do 4:3 and be true + good on other days 4wks later all your clothes will be baggy.
Try to enjoy tomorrow :clover: Take care    Sue

<hugs>

2 steps forward and one step back is still one step forward !

I think most of the people posting big loss's are in the first few weeks or breaking through a plateau. Your start date is roughly the same as mine, I've hit a crappy few weeks myself according to the scales. (scales lie...you must wear lucky socks)

Try and get out for a walk tomorrow, doesn't matter how far. Then think how much harder it would of been carrying another 5kg. I know in relation to your BMI 5kg might not seem a lot but for your heart it is huge benefit.. (I was 20 stone 2 years ago , 5:2 has helped get me from 17.5 to under 16)

consider this... http://www.omg-facts.com/Science/For-Ev ... -Bod/28212

5kg = 11 lb .. so that's 77 miles LESS blood vessels you heart needs to pump around. Your heart loves you :)

Do you know you started 5:2 at the same time as me and we have both had similar weight loss, and I was just posting this morning my 'success' of having lost 5 kilos in 10 weeks! It just goes to show a lot of success or failure is all about perspective, and in my opinion you're doing great (as I am naturally), so be kind to yourself and keep at it!

Annieliz a lot of us are doing the same dance eg two step forward two steps back as you are, for example my losses are very slow and up and down but as mariposa said change comes in waves and chunks but I find if you just stick with it, shake it up a but here and there to find the 5:2 variations which works for you and your life.

The recipes here are fantastic esp the soups and other low cal ideas to reduce boredom re food. I also suggest read the nerdy bits to get to understand the latest science. Also find a record of your stats can bolster you along you can see the difference from when you started albeit it tiny at times if not the scales, your measurements, if not your clothes or some ones comment and then there come surprises over the distance with new milestones emerging

This is a slow and steady process all the best with it and the forum is very supportive

Don't worry!

You have said yourself you have gone two steps forwards.....isn't that the main thing?

The scales leap up a bit for me occassionally but the general trend is the right way. The same for you according to your note.

I've been doing this for a month longer than you yet you've lost about twice as much weight as me. But, I'm quite happy with my 2+ kilo loss.

It's all relative.

Thanks everyone, last night I just felt as tho I was going off track a bit and maybe losing my way?? This is my 3rd non fast day in a row and I don't think going that long without fasting suits me,so from now on I'll try 2 feast one fast and see how I go! On a positive note (I think) a friend asked at the christening if I had lost weight- cause my boobs looked saggy!!!!!! Talk about giving a compliment in one hand and taking it with the other

Don't forget I do a physical job.

Do you pack 44 pallets of dairy produce on a 12 hour shift?
