Confused/annoyed

Hi everyone
So I've been doing 4:3 and so far it seems to have worked really well. Last week I fasted mon, wed, fri and got down to 12st10lb which is great for me. On Saturday I didn't eat a lot but what I did eat probably wasn't the healthiest but I didn't think it would be too bad. Then Sunday I did a 12 mile work and ended up burning over 1000 calories. I then when home and had a roast dinner and some ice cream but didn't think that would matter because of the calories I burnt off. So I come to weight myself after doing my Monday fast and I have out 2lb on. So I was wondering has anyway spotted something I haven't or roughly how long does it take for the calories burnt to show up on the scales? Thanks x

Your weight can naturally fluctuate (mine goes up and down 3lbs for no apparent reason) - weigh once a week at the same time on the same scales and then you'll get a truer picture.

I agree, weight ( especially for women) can fluctuate by several pounds. I doubt very much you have gained 2lb of fat. See what the next weeks weigh in brings. If its an upwards trend, then maybe you'll need to look into what you are doing.

The effort of the walk may cause temporary weight increase as your muscles repair the 'damage' (silly word really). I sometimes find an increase after a long walk followed a few days later by a drop in weight. This is the time to check measurements or how you feel so the weight doesn't get you down. Keep going :)

This mirrors my situation. Got to goal 2 weeks ago but am now 2lb heavier. Time of the month and added exercise last week. Haven't run for six weeks and eased back into it with a mile, then mile and half runs. Have hip in agony (reason for not running) and am hoping that muscle repair is partly to blame for weight gain. I know it's only a couple of pound but for confidence it is very bad for me. Am trying to be better than normal with food choices but it's there in the back of my mind. Hope the extra weight disappears quickly. X

I've had a similar week, only gained over 4 lbs! I also do 4:3. I don't really believe that I've gained real weight (as opposed to water weight). I'm trying to be patient until next week.

I can see the advantage to weighing daily using an app with a trend line. I'm still too worried about becoming obsessed, though, so holding off for now.

I experience same "temporary" weight gain after very long walks. It's fluid retention. You will notice your clothes still fit looser and taking your measurements can help too.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. It makes sense about the weight gain because of the repairing muscles. I dont weight myself every day but i do like to weight myself the day after i fast so hopefully when i weight myself tomorrow i will see the difference.
Regarding Golinda's comment. i dont measure myself but i do feel like i should for this reason. But since sunday (day of the walk) i feel bloated. at first i thought it was because of my aching muscles and the way i was positioned because of this. But all my aches and pains have gone now and my trousers seem like they are getting tighter again :s Anyway im sure it is just water weight or time of the month (i wouldnt no im on the injection) but as long as i get back down to my 12st10lb mark i'll be happy as that is the lightest ive been for a year or so.
