Delighted or Disappointed?

14 posts Page 1 of 1
I have been a little disappointed at my weight loss. I have kept to the 600 cals OK but gone a bit overboard on the other days

I have decided to try 3 days of restricted calories this week, Monday Wednesday and Friday.

If it works I will try and do this more regularly, though not every week.

Anyone else tried this approach?
I don't think this will do you any harm David. From what I have read (not experienced, as new to this too), it takes a while for us to get used to eating 'normally' on the day after a fast day. I've been told to just keep going and your body will find it's natural way to be.

I have over eaten on some feed days and expect not to have lost much weight this week. It takes time to adapt, we can do it :D
I haven't seen much weight loss either. I'm going to stick to the 5:2 for the time being as I feel my jeans are looser even though it doesn't show on the scales (yet)!
I think it's always a good idea to measure your waist and hips and chest before you start. I am not losing pounds but have lost a good few inches.
Don’t feel too disappointed with that weight loss David. Looking at the date you started this diet your doing very well. I reached my current weight in about 18 weeks which = a little over 1.5lbs a week. Although I did lose more when I first started, about 2lbs a week.

I can’t comment on what it’s like doing 3 days a week as I never tried it, but I found 2 days a week hard when I first started.

I did find the weight loss was erratic, its seemed like some weeks I lost nothing others it fell off me. Without lowering the tone too much, the frequency I used the toilet dropped significantly for me in the first 8-10 weeks on this diet. It’s much better now, but still not back to normal.
Hi, I'm doing 4:3 this week as I calculated my 'normal' calorie intake on a feed day as at least 500 over what I should be at (ie. 2500+ rather than 2000).

I will see what my weight loss is on Sunday as that will be one complete week. If its too much, I will revert to 5:2 because I want this to be as enjoyable as possible in the long run.

Let us know how you get on :-)
Well I am nearly through the second day of the 3 so should hopefully manage to do a 3rd day on Friday

I must say Nicky I think you are brave doing 4:3 in your first week.

Iwill post on Saturday how things have gone. I would be interested in your result as well
I doubt I would have contemplated it if it weren't for the fact that my fast days have been a breeze :-) Probably due to my overeating on feed days - still full up for most of a fast day LOL :-)
Hi i am new to this diet, and have just completed my first fast days.

I did 3 days fasting, monday, tuesday and wednesday now looking forard to 4 days of normal eating and will continue with 2 days a week monday and tuesday from now on. I just wanted a good kick start - feeling mighty fine
OK - starting my third day this week

We went out for a meal last night so the calorie count was high. Under 600 today should hopefully still give me a weight loss this week

I think I will probably try and do 4:3 again for next two weeks as well
Good luck David. I completed my third fast yesterday but I won't know the results of the week until Sunday morning. I think knowing 'I didn't have to' do a third day might have made it slightly more difficult than the other two. Once I know my weight loss on Sunday I'll decide whether to do two or three next week.
The differences in people's experiences are quite fascinating. It seems clear that people are having success with lots of different permutations of the basic principles :)
Late finish at work tonight (I am just taking a 5 minute break). I have had about 200 cals so far today so have another 400 to look forward to when I get home.

I think it will be an early night
Ahhhh - fell at the last hurdle - probably ended up at around 750 - 800 cals

Still managed to lose 2 pounds this week.

I am going to try and manage my eating better on the feed days and go for 4:3 again next week
