Delighted or Disappointed?

Thanks for the advice Bordergirl. I have to say though that it shouldn't be that complicated - that's part of the appeal of this WOE.

I do get plenty of sleep most of the time. I move my fast days as necessary. I think I might've missed one fast day since Jan. but that's it. My TDEE is 1700 (and that's if I'm sedentary, which as a teacher I really am not) so I think 1500 is fine for my non-fast days. I've learned that the best plan for me is to eat a high protein breakfast and dinner. And yes, I understand that female issues can affect my weight.

I think that I am following the plan pretty well and actually even a little stricter, since I do track my calories on non-fast days. As I said above I probably just need to really make sure I'm staying within those calories and maybe drink a little more in general and more green tea specifically and maybe my body will get the idea!

I do appreciate the advice!
Hi Fasting Buddy and everyone else :)

I can totally understand everyone's frustration - will be good to talk to Debs about it in person; it may be easier to unpack what is going on when we can talk rather than type!!

Lots of very good thoughts from bordergirl and others. Do try to hang in there and stick with 5:2 - it is worth rereading all the FAQ and going back to basics.

Also, what's the alternative? Going back to previous eating habits? Paying $$$ for WW and the like (knowing that you will probably put any weight lost via these programs back on)?

I have already mentioned this site to my buddy:
http://www.beckdietsolution.com/daily-diet-solutions/
I think these daily tips are very helpful - using CBT to help us improve our eating habits seems like a good idea to me.

Thinking of you all and hoping that "onwards and downwards" happens for you soon. :)
PS Hmm, I wonder if I was a bit harsh re alternatives? :(
Maybe, as an alternative, a break from fasting would help - have a week or two when you don't worry about what you are eating. It may then be easier to start fasting again. I certainly found that after 5 days of eating far too much, I was very glad to be back to this WOE.

Also, having short term goals can help, and making sure you do praise/reward yourself when you do have successful fast and non-fast days - try to bottle that good feeling to call on when you are struggling!!

Best wishes :)
I am in that frustrated tent too ! Going to cut carbs out this week . Had added them back in after starting this diet as the appeal was it was possible to eat all food groups . Not for me obviously !

Onwards !
The peed off tent is attracting a few members!!! Yes Sassy1 looking forward to a good gab Monday week!!
I have tried three days of protein and fat to get into fat burning am semi fasting today. Just trying to relax about things.
Did someone create a peed off tent? I'll have to look for it!

Thanks for the tips Sassy1! I don't have trouble fasting really (except for the day I tried to go without breakfast, now I know I can't do that.) I like the WOE just fine, I just wish the scales would cooperate a bit more. But, as I said in my 2nd post on here, I am going to try to be a little stricter and see how that goes.
This is it!!!!!!!
Ok I was thinking about setting up a frustrated tent but am a bit apprehensive. The reason is because we are all here to support and share our experiences, a frustrated tent is not positive enough for my liking.
So how about
1. venting tent
2. Getting it off my chest tent
3. Just a Blip tent
4. Waiting patiently tent
5. Come in and pull up a chair tent
6. Appointments not necessary tent

Get the idea, any others greatly received. Positive pls.
A difficult one carieoates. 3,4 and 5 are the scenic route tent, but you want something vehement without feeling too negative!!
I think 1 or 2 would be good!
I have only been on it a month and started well then put on about 5 pound one week. I was horrified. Since then its gone down again and a little bit more. Im hoping it continues too. I can understand the need for venting as I had too. Chin up and im sure it will start to come off again.
Good luck :victory:

You choose @cblasz, you started it.
I was trying to think of something clever, but haven't been able to. So I'd say the venting tent is good!
