Under 90kg

How the blinking hell did I ever get over 90kg? 2 babies, not enough time to exercise and no will power to diet.

However after 8 weeks I have lost 4.5kg and I'm now 89.7kg. My goal is 70kg so I have a long long way to go, but a first mini goal has been achieved. Next mini goals are 85kg and a 50% waist:height ratio.

My clothes are a lot looser and I'm wearing jeans (now fashioned as cut off shorts) that I owned when I first met my husband. I also have a lot more energy in general, I'm not sure if that is because of the amazing weather we've been having, or the incredible fresh veg from my hubbys veggie patch or 5:2 - possibly a little of everything.

As I have just posted elsewhere, I don't like fast days and I find them incredibly difficult to get through esp. since I am a full time Mum at the moment (work on hold for the summer). But the results are encouraging and keeping me at it.

Well done - I think it is a good idea to have an overall goal, but to set mini-targets along the way. Slowly but surely is better than losing weight too quickly!I didn't lose any weight for quite some time, but first of all the waistbands on my skirts and trousers got looser, then I got more energy and later the weight started to shift. Next time you're in the supermarket pick up a couple of 2kg bags of sugar - you're no longer carrying that around all the time!

I hadn't thought of it like that. Heading to kitchen now to show OH how much I've lost in bags of sugar/flour/rice.

Yes, it's a bit like a glass being half full or half empty. Rather than concentrate on what you have to lose, concentrate on the weight you have already lost, inches lost, more energy etc. - a more positive way of thinking. I try to keep 5:2 as light-hearted as I can, eg if I eat too much on a fast day, I just do the fast day the following day.
