Fast Friday, October 24

I'm in! Is anyone else?

I've just had a cucumber to stop my tummy rumbling. I've been doing this a lot lately at midday--usually cherry tomatoes or a cucumber. I'm not sure it's the best strategy, but it seems to tide me over until I have a miso soup, then dinner.

I've noticed a couple of people (GMH and rawkaren, if I'm not mistaken) have lunch as their main meal on fast days. I'm thinking about giving this a try.

I'm in too. I had a carrot earlier  trying to stave off hunger. And about to head out for a walk. I tend to liquid fast (tea and water only) for the full 36 hours, as I find eating anything just makes me hungrier. I tried lunch a few times in the early days, but found I spent the rest of the arvo/eve absolutely ravenous, so switched to evening meal. Then I found even that made me go to bed hungry, so I went to the no food option, and it's been the easiest.

I'm in for my 3rd this week. I wasn't going to do 3, but I ate like a lumberjack today for no reason other than I was stressed, frustrated & hungry. I can't imagine being remotely hungry Friday though, so it might be an easy day...we'll see. Wishing anyone else fasting a quick & easy one.

I'm in, going to see how it goes and how I feel, but Tuesday went really well (apart from feeling slightly cold). I usually don't eat anything until the evening, sticking to coffee with skimmed milk, and lots of water (some sparkling).

Good luck everyone :clover:

@MaryAnn as @CandiceMarie said I tried lunch yesterday and it worked a treat, no hunger pangs for the rest of the day, no thinking of food  . Half an advocado, crayfish, lettuce with french dressing and cracked pepper 220 cals (it's from Pret). I have it occasionally on non fast days and had noticed that it completely satisfied me .... so much so my appetite is reduced for the rest of the day. Going to give it a go next week ...... for a change. Good luck Friday fasters :clover:

I am fasting today, too. Only 9.30am here so you are all ahead of me. Fasted Monday and Wednesday with Wednesday being a semi fast where I didn't eat all day but then had a good meal in the evening (+a treat) I reckon about 1000kcals). Want to do a strict fast ahead of the weekend though to preempt two days of eating.

Hey Ho, it's Friday so it's one of my usual 4:3 days. I still have a lot of baking to do when I get home but looking forward to the weekend.

Good Luck to fellow Friday fasters. :clover:

Yes I'm in as well for my third weekly fast. I don't seem to be losing any weight this week which is frustrating. My son & his wife are coming to stay tomorrow & we will be meeting at a Japanese restaurant for an introduction to the food because we will be visiting Japan next month. Our daughter in law has lived & taught English there for a couple of years so we are also wanting to learn how to bow correctly & some important doos & don'ts ! Learning some basic phrases will also be useful. I really need to learn to distinguish signs for the ladies loos  because we will be on an archaeological tour from one end of the country to the other! This will include crossing different climate zones so I have invested in a 3in 1 jacket because we have been advised we will be going from warmish areas to possible snow!
I hope you all have a good fast day so far two coffees for me & I won't eat until supper.

I'm fasting today as well ... and it's my first day on the forum
Nothing but black coffee and water till late lunch at around 1:30/2pm then I'll have a protein bar ... I find these are working well for me and wonder if anyone else uses them ?
I'm using Quest bars which are from the US and cost a fortune in the UK but still less than I would spend on lunch if I was buying a sandwich etc.
For the first time since I started my belly is rumbling but I'm not actually hungry whoohoo !
