Fasting on Tuesday, June 28
28 Jun 2016, 09:11
There used to be a 'fasting today' site up here, but now there almost never is. The upside of this is that I know now how to start one. But are there so few of us? For me the Intermittent Fasting regime is the only one that works, and I do not feel hungry anymore. I am in the process of deciding which weight would be good for me. And I finally feel that with fasting I am in control of my eating. I am not hungry but I like eating.....
One more fast day left of this Alternate Day Regime of mine. I have already lost about 3 kg on this 2 week stint and it has not been too hard. From Friday I can have breakfast every morning and I am looking forward to that too.
In July I will maintenance fast once a week. I'll see what that'll do to me. It seems so effortless to put on the pounds ,,,,
Anyway, writing in here helps me to while away the day until dinner time.

Hello @margotsylvia!

Sorry it's so lonely here. I'm with you until about 1pm today because I am doing 16:8 at the moment. Looking forward to my yoghurt & crushed strawberries immensely!

You sound like you have everything sussed. What's your story? I'm happy to keep you company today & put a few posts on this thread...so let's go back to basics.....tell me about you....

I'm fasting today. Started back last week and completed 2 fasts. First fast of the week today. Not much planned for today. I've been swimming this morning and have a stack of ironing to do...not very entertaining but necessary!
Have you finished you blood sugar diet now Hazelnut? Your posts have been so entertaining. Good luck with 16/8.
Hope I can get a good run of fasts together like you Margotsylvia. I find it fairly easy during the day but then harder to control my eating when I've broken my fast.

Hello everyone!
Today I am fasting, I 23: 1 almost every day.
I'm from Brazil, here many cold days and stayed sunless ten days, today it is cold but it is a very bright day!
I'm doing fasts since April, the month of June the scales have not moved yet.
I started my weight loss process in March 2014, with Lowcarb, and I lost 20 kg, then returned 5 kg, now 3 months of fasting, I lost the weight I had gained last.
I liked the fasting community, it is important for us to move forward with the encouragement of fellow fighting weight.
Sorry if there are grammatical errors, I use Google Translate.
A hug to everyone.

Hello @queen56 & congrats on starting back. Hope today has gone well for you.

I am two days in to Week 8 of the Blood Sugar Diet. When I started, I decided to do 16:8 as well - not to eat until after noon each day...and be done by 8pm. This has worked fine - I'd find it hard to split 800 calories into 3 I think! I promised myself I'd try to do the full 8 weeks of the BSD...and all of a sudden, here I am nearly at the end of those 8 weeks. I'm so glad you've enjoyed reading the posts - it's been good to have an outlet and to share the experience with other forum members.

What are your goals? How long did you fast for last time?

Hi Ana50

I hope that you are well. More importantly, I hope that there was a big translation error. I really hope you are not saying that you only allow yourself to eat for one hour of every day, and that you have a 23 hour fast every single day. That is extremely unhealthy. You could very well be destroying your metabolism, which would be why you are having so much trouble losing weight. If you truly are fasting for 23 hours a day, ever day, your body might think it's starving and therefore won't burn calories very efficiently.

Could you please clarify if that's what you mean?

Thank you

@hazelnut20 I faster for about 6 months (quite intermittently though) about 2 years ago but did lose weight very slowly. Wish I'd kept on but hindsight is an amazing thing!
I'm combining 5 2 with low carb and exercise this time.
My youngest daughter is getting married next year so I have the best incentive to lose 21 lbs and feel fitter and healthier.
Good luck for your last few days of the blood sugar diet.

This is my report from yesterday. I lost about 700g!! On Monday, because of circumstances I had very little supper, though was not fasting then. Then a fast on top of that. I now weigh 56.5 kg and my BMI is 22.07. So I am getting very close to my unofficial goal of BMI 22.0. Tomorrow is my final fast day on the Alternate way. And tomorrow I am going to travel outside my WIFI range, so cannot report until next week.
Wishing you all a good week end and a great new month :clover: :clover: :clover:

Hi Ana56, I also hope your not under eating. How much weight are you wanting to lose? I hope it's ok to ask.
You need to do it the proper way,or it's not safe to starve yourself , translating with Google must be hard but I love that we can come on this forum and we are all from different counties,I am from Melbourne Australia,it's winter here and very cold,I don't like the cold. I have not been very good with my fasting,I need to get back on track. Take care everyone

If you are doing 5:2, then the amount of calories is up to you. Some people don't eat on their two fast days, but most keep it to 500 calories or fewer per day. Then on the other five days a week, you aim to eat about what you would burn in a day -- called TDEE http://mytdee.com/
