Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.

Well, here I am halfway through my fast-day! (I'm actually just wanting to show off my new avatar - thanks for the very clear directions @dominic. It's Watego's beach, in Byron Bay, suddenly the sunset just happened in front of me!) I was doing a "half-fast" yesterday, intending just to eat a normal dinner, then around 2 pm suddenly felt horrible - light headed, "out of it", lacking energy ++, and bailed - blood sugars were fine though. Blaming fasting, until today I realize I now have a summer cold, which would explain a bit! Poor old fasting, seems to be the scapegoat for everything in my life! But today is much better!

Good luck to all the new year's eve fasters!
Excellent avatar @jools7! Hope you feel better soon. Happy New Year! :drink: :)
Lovely avatar..i hear Byron Bay is fab! Happy New Year and Happy Fasting you Terrific Tuesday-ers! :like: x x x
I'm fasting today and going well. Spent the morning in town catching up on some jobs I've managed to avoid since before Christmas, especially topping up on the groceries - I hate shopping!
Sometime during the day, I decided to hold out until 4pm before having something to eat ( I usually cave in at around 2pm). It's now after 4.30 and I'm still feeling fine so I think I might just keep on going and have a feast for dinner :)
Camping and kayaking tomorrow! I'm so looking forward to being close to the water in this horrible heat! 'Only' 37 degrees today!
I'm in today sort of. I'm working Hogmanay and over the bells and onto the morning of ne'er day (new Year's day) so will do a full fast until dinner time then when the big buffet opens and I still have 7 hours to work, I will eat. So it's more 24:4 , kind of...
Lovely pic
Lovely picture Jool - take care of yourself. Happy new year to you as well.

Cheers MAGGIE xx
Also fasting today and welcome it wholeheartedly! Did 16:8 yesterday and felt better after the string of festive holiday wonderful eating and drinking - which made me feel clogged up. I have overdone it especially with the carbs and have paid for it. 4 lbs gained.
Luckily we have the tools to get back on track and this forum to support us. Have been reading all the postings and it's good to know so many are in the same boat and all still have a positive attitude!
Before normal routines can set in again, we have friends coming to stay for 4 days, but I will be quietly on track. Have a really good day fellow fasters! :clover:
Lovely avatar Jools. I was born on the south coast of UK but now live almost smack in the middle & I so miss the sea. I always try to have a holiday near a beach every year.

I'm doing my first fast today. I thought that fasting on Tuesday & Thursday might be easier to manage as I will usually be at work & busy much of the time.

Good luck to today's fasters & a happy, healthy 2014 to all.
Getting one in today, as only working until lunchtime, really looking forward to it!
Oh goodness, @patchworkperson, your first fast today! How exciting! Good luck with that! There are plenty of good resources on the forum, I particularly recommend carorees' FAQ. Do let us know how you go! & happy new year!
OH and I are fasting today....OH suggested it too...and that's amazing for him because up to now I have been the one initiating things. We're going to treat ourselves tomorrow instead.
I have been very virtuous today too, cleaned the cooker and spent a while on here re-reading posts.
 Happy New Year everyone.
