Starting my first fast this week. I hope to make it a good one. I'm going to be drinking black tea this morning, and having avocado with canned tuna when I need it. It sounds awful, but there are recipes for it, so giving it a try.

Hi Ravingkilo, does sound.....different. ...but it's amazing what is acceptable when you are properly hungry. I have been avoiding imaginative cooking when fasting so I often eaten a quorn fillet with Brussels sprouts, chilli, ginger lime and fresh herbs. ...absolutely not what I would usually eat, but it does get me through. Hope today goes well.
I would rather have waited until dark to eat, but I was afraid to wait. I wasn't hungry, but was craving food. Now that I'm full, I think the rest of the day will go OK. Food has always been my drug of choice. I'm down 90 pounds, but I'm still self-medicating. That's got to change. It's one reason I'm fasting. I'm hopeful to change my relationship to food. Maybe, over time, I'll get used to just not having a mouthful of something whenever I feel bored or sad or angry or lonely or frustrated... :crossed:
The tuna and avocado really tasted good, but looked horrible. Wrapped in red leaf lettuce, burrito style, it was yummy and looked appealing. Next time I make it I will try to have some more goods things to chop up into it, and maybe spice it up a bit. This is all I did today though: 1 small can tuna in water, REALLY WELL DRAINED; 1 small avocado, smashed; salt, pepper; stir it up and roll it in lettuce leaves. It made 5. I ate them all. 350 calories.
Hope your fast is going well. I fasted today, had a great salad for supper with family. I just didn't add the salad dressing. Lots of water and tea. I am hoping to now go to bed without binging! bingeing?
