Fasting Today, Friday 27th May
27 May 2016, 06:32
Good morning everyone !

I am here for my third fast this week. This one may be even more challenging than Monday's because of that "bad time of the month" syndrom but I am commited to it and my dinner is even already in my fridge. It will be some home made bouillabaisse (fish soup) leftovers that I froze the other day.

Until then lots of tea and water

Good luck :clover:
Good morning, I'm with you today. This is my 3rd fast this week, although my Wednesday fast didn't go as well as I wanted. I didn't eat until just after 10pm (waiting for DD to come home before cooking) and then I ended up having a bread roll and butter with it, taking me about 3oo cals over :( I don't even know why I did it. I'm not too worried, it made for a very long fast before eating and it's been a 4:3 week. As long as today is a good solid (no more than 500cal) fast it will be ok. I'll be having a stir-fry for dinner this evening. I have some tuna steaks in the fridge that need using, so a tuna stir-fry it will be.
Happy Friday fasting :clover: :clover: :clover:
@Manderley, I wonder if you can tell me a little about the situation in France at the moment. My DD is going to France next week with school. I'm a little worried after see the violence on TV. They are staying just outside Montpellier. Is the trouble just around Paris or is it across the country? Is it still safe for her to go? I was already worried as it's the first time she's been on holiday with school (and without myself). Would be grateful of any info.
@justdee I live in a small town so, except some issue with the fuel (yesterday you could only put 20€ max in your tank because of the shortage) we don't feel the heat. I looked at the news and the violence seems to be, for the most of it, in Paris. However I would be careful on how it is reported in the medias. I read several newspapers every day, the Daily Mail is one of them (I know, it's a bad one, I am asahamed of myself) and it makes things look worse than they really are. They are focused on sensationalism, and, when you read the news over here, they all say that the violence in manifestations was way worse in the past. There always a few misfits, who are here to break things and make trouble and be violent for the thrill of it, but that's not the majority.
Now, if you're worried, I would advise that you don't let your DD go next week, even if theret's no danger. A trip is not worth staying sick with worries until she comes back, IMHO
Thanks @Manderley. I would worry anyway but there comes a time when you have to give a little freedom and let them grow. I don't read the newspapers but will keep an eye on the situation, maybe speak to a few of the parents and the school. I have never let her go on over night school trips before (all her friends have been going since they were very young), it would be a bold move to say she couldn't go now, although I would do it if I thought she was in danger. We are in Catalunya and I know when there is trouble in Barcelona we never feel it (only an hour away). I'm sure all will be fine, they are only going a few hour drive over the boarder and not staying in a city. Thanks again. I will see what's happening next week.
I am fasting today. And only traveling to the nearest city on the mainland, from this island I live on. Coming back tomorrow. Not sure how the fasting will go with the bus trip and all, but we'll see.
Just thought I'd pop in and wish you all a great Friday Fast!
Well done to you two doing 4:3 - highly commendable I must say.
Good luck and...roll on tomorrow eh?!!
Bean
Everything is going fairly well so far. The cramps actually helps, strangely enough, I am not hungry at all and if only the pain was not so bad I have to stay in bed, it would be perfect. I may have an issue tonight, though, the bouillabaisse waiting for me in the fridge. I don't really feel like it and don't want to throw it away. What to do ?

@nursebean Thanks for your support  Good luck for tomorrow :clover:
Oh sorry to hear you're suffering so badly @Manderley - just make sure you drink plenty of fluids today. As for the fish stew/soup will it keep until tomorrow? I think you have to be careful with fish don't you. Don't risk it, though, if you don't fancy it. Its really not worth adding that to your troubles. xx
I guess I did a similar thing with my milk. I had quite a lot left and was about to go out of date - so I ended up having a packet of Angel Delight to myself and used it all up with several bowls of cereal. Will I EVER learn?!!
Bean
Don't worry @nursebean I am used to it, it always has been this way. The first 2 days are nightmarish, the 3 days after that are "normal". I did eat the bouillabaisse, which was awesome, by the way. It was fresh when I froze it less than a month ago so there's nothing to worry about.

Everything went fairly well, even with the pain but I am happy the day is nearly over.

Ooooh and @ferretgal have an awsome party tonight
Oh good, glad you're ok Manderley .a and you enjoyed the Bouillabaisse!
Yes, @Manderley, I plan on it (having a GREAT time!). My sis is coming over early for me to do her makeup (I used to do it professionally and haven't gotten to glam out in a long time) and bubbly (other friend is driving, so...).

Wow, all this talk of cramps is making me glad I'm postmenopausal! (Not usually something to be grateful for...) Although I didn't usually have difficult periods, just emotional issues for a few days each month (irritable and got angry much easier). But I did have excessive bleeding for several months right before I stopped (having periods), and got anemic for the only time in my life. Fortunately, it didn't last too long.
@ferretgalThat sounds really great  I really envy you. That made me want to binge watch some DB concerts so tonight it's 1973 Hammersmith Odeon, the 1976 rehearsals and, to end the night, the 1978 Musikaden

Those cramps gone will be the only positive thing when I will be menopausal. I know how to deal with them but still, when the only comfortable position is the fetal one, it's not a peace of cake (oooooooh cake..... )
I've had a good fastday. I did feel more hungry than I have been lately but it wasn't too bad. It's strange how sometime I don't feel hungry but can't resist the urge to eat and other times I do feel hungry and can handle it. Just goes to show it's all in my heads. Also manage to fit in a 2 hour walk this morning. Got fingers crossed for a loss on scale tomorrow.
Hope you're feeling better @Manderley, glad you had a good fast and didn't let the pain put you off.
@Nursebean I don't even know how I'm managing to do 4:3, I've struggled with it in the past. I think it's because I know I've got to get a grip and get some of this weight back off. I'm also trying to get the fast in while I'm in a good head space, I know it won't always be like this.
