It's Salford Quays, during a swim a couple of years back: http://www.greatswim.org/Events/Great-Manchester-Swim; it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoy it!

All going well on the fasting front so far today
I'm fasting today. Period is due though so I'm finding it uber hard.

@Pip I'm on the Pill so I've shifted the first day of my period to be on a fast day... I reckon I generally feel so sore and bloated on day 1, especially after meals, that I won't miss food all that much! Good luck with the rest of your day :)

I've just decided to try a new approach today: might not work for every fast day, but I'm still adapting (this is no.4 for me). I've tried doing lunch and dinner, and dinner only which was much easier, but I've found that it's difficult to get 400-500 cal into one meal without including hunger-triggering carbs like rice or pasta, so I'd been making two small courses (e.g. a bowl of soup and a stir fry) and eating them one after the other. Problem was, that actually made me feel over-full and a bit ill after nothing all day. So I'm going to try having my two small meals in the evening, but leaving a couple of hours between them: not enough to get starving in between, but enough that I pace myself a bit and don't get sick of getting straight up from one small meal to prepare the next! So I'm considering making a poached egg with spinach and a grilled sausage at around 4-5, and lentil and lime zest soup for around 7.30. Let's do this!
@Egduf- looks pretty awesome to me. I've been fancying entering an open water event so I might just see you there one day. We did Born Survivor last year, at Lowther Castle and it was awesome. Head to toe in mud.
Fast going fine so far, having my first cup of tea before enjoying a chicken and boiled egg salad for dinner. I find having all 500 calories between 4 and 6pm works for me, that way I don't go to bed hungry. Tomorrow is weigh day too so fingers crossed!
This is the first fast day that I have really struggled with. I won't give up because it's gone 5pm now so that would be pointless but my head feels thick and my throat hurts. Meh. Just spent an hour in the bath trying to warm up and kill time. I suppose I am lucky that it's been pretty easy up until now. Dinner soon and then I am going to bed with my book!
@Sarahslim
Born Survivor looks really tough! I haven't done any of the tough guy/mud type events (although running anywhere you get pretty muddy at the moment).

I've got through the working day on coffee and sparkling water, will probably have some soup and veg tonight.

Good luck everyone for the rest of the day.
I'm fasting today, Whoooo hooo!!!! It's 6:15pm and I've not eaten yet, looks like I'm over my blip. Note to self: don't stress about it and it will all come good in the end. :) Hope all todays fasters have had a good fastday :)

Hey there

I fasted today as Wednesday failed big time and I caved at 1pm and got a cheese roll from the canteen (which tasted amazing even though was only cheap white bread & cheap plastic cheese - shows that anything tastes good when you're that hungry!).

Today's been pretty easy really - lots of quite loud rumbles at lunchtime but didn't feel sick with hunger as I did on weds. Hubby's climbing tonight so won't get dinner til later so hopefully I can hold out til then. It's a ham & butterbean crumble so no idea how many cals - probably over 500 but I'm not too fussed.

Thinking that mon/fri actually suits me quite well for fast days - gives me enough time between fasts to not feel it's come around again too soon, and I work all day mon & fri, so can just go to work & get on with it. Weds I work afternoons so I could just have a late healthy brekkie and a healthy dinner and it would be a 'low' day. Am sort of in maintenance so am just playing around with combinations that will help me keep this up without it being a chore.
Evening! I've been fasting today, all I had all day was 1 coffee after swimming this morning, then loads of water and one glass of weak lime squash. I had a headache this afternoon and was getting well crabby by 4:30!

So I've come home from the office and had a small amount of pasta with a little blob of pesto and loads of onions/peppers etc fried in 1 cal spray. And now I've had a coffee and feel quite good. According to My Fitness Pal I've got about 100 calories left, so I'm saving that for later so I don't go to bed hungry again :)
Third fast day of this week, I have my food at lunchtime so I'm going to treat myself to a coffee in about half an hour - must confess that tummy is rumbling loud enough to draw comments from child sitting on the sofa - she would be better to remain nice and quiet because from this angle she looks like a chicken drumstick
Normally I would've fasted yesterday but I had leftover Dominos to finish... naughty! I've had a rubbish week for food, my boyfriend visited and we always scoff sweets together as well as big portions because he's so much taller than me. Luckily we only see each other every 3 weeks at the moment (never thought I'd say that!)

Anyway, fasting today and hoping to lose what I've gained this past week so I can get back on track for Valentine's Day. Must stay positive...
I'm in today, 3rd Fast of the week! Finishing my 10th month of Fasting :) Wish me :clover: the same to all you good Fasting folks. Glad to be in such great company.
