Fasting today Monday 11 April
10 Apr 2016, 22:57
Good morning Monday fasters - or good evening to the Northern hemisphere peeps who are still finishing off their weekends.

Beautiful shiny autumn morning here in Sydney for my first fast of the week. Nothing but tea and coffee today until around 5 when I will have an apple on the way to the gym. Then zucchini spaghetti with avocado pesto for dinner. A walk around the oval near the office will take care of the lunchtime temptations.

How are you spending your fast day?
I'll be joining this fast in a few hours as penance for today. Did a 5K this morning, ate two slices of my 3rd place winnings - a gift card to a 30cm thin-crust pepperoni pizza.

Greek salad for dinner with shredded chicken breast.
Am fasting today - with the grudging support of my doctor. Starting immunotherapy for my chronic leukemia today - and trying to counteract the effects of the pre-medication of steroids - so going fir it!
Morning All, I will be starting my fast tonight so won't mention what I had for breakfast or what I'm having for lunch.....don't want to cause any unnecessary hunger pangs. Spring water all afternoon then salmon with broccoli green peppers and broad beans in coconut oil various fresh herbs spices and gingerfor dinner tonight, and a bike ride with friends IF it stops raining. Nothing for breakfast or lunch tomorrow just more spring water and some veg stock powder "soup" until back to normal tomorrow night. Hope everyone's fast day goes well.
Good Morning from Yorkshire
I'm in today as normal.....just 1lb to lose for my stone and then I think the proper hard work will
begin.
I will need to lose 5lb's to take me to my 'ideal' weight  .
I need to increase my exercise, but at the moment really lake motivation .....any idea's to get my bottom moving more????
Good luck everyone!
Yes I am fasting too, having an egg and vegetables kind of day :)
Good day everyone
I am in today after a pretty busy weekend between repairing my computer and HDD and doing a lot of exercise (and I mean A LOT). It will be a slow cooked cauliflower, carrots, onions and lentils something. I don't care about the name of it jus that lentils are really filing and, as I don't have weight to lose any more, I am experimenting a bit.

Good luck :clover:
Good luck you Monday Marvels!
@ADFnFuel well done! You deserved that pizza!
@RBorch07 goodluck with yr treatment x has the doc given any reasons for his disapproval of fasting?
@cathykaty i' m the last person who can advise on exercise..but one thing i do which is painless,is whenever the adverts come on tv,i always get up and get active!
Over the course of an evening its many short spurts of moving ...i brush the kitchen floor, put dishes away, fold washing etcetc
By the end of the night everywhere is spick and span for next day, and i have kept moving instead of being a total couch potato
Its not an exercise regime ..Just a small but effective habit xx

The stew/soup is nearly done, the house smells of rosemary and thyme, which I love and I am looking forward to tonight's dinner. I add a bit of instant mashed potatoes to thicken it (2 tbsp) and now itt just has to stay warm and wait for me.

I have been good so far, 2 big black coffee and a coffee with steamed milk (with the expresso machine) so a tiny bit of milk for a lot of coffee
Good luck today you Marvellous Monday Fasters! Mm @Manderley? I LOVE the smell of your stew ;-)
I'm in today, just a bit after noon here and am having my pot o' green tea, about to put some eggs on to hardboil, one of my fave light day snacks!

@Cathykaty, finding an activity that you LOVE that's considered "exercise" is the best way for those of us prone to not moving. I dance and inline skate, also walk (outdoors in nature). I probably don't do as much as I "should," but anything is better than nothing! I try to go by the mantra, "Perfect is the enemy of good."
Happy Tuesday! (Because only a few of us here are still in Monday...)
Dinner was a turkey burger, pea pods sauteed with garlic, and salad. Those pea pods are one of the best veggies ever invented.
Now maybe I'll have a nice hot cuppa, as you say.
@Manderley, what sort of lentils do you cook with? I like the small orange ones. There are tiny greenish ones that, on our side of the pond, are called "French lentils"!
Had a strangely good "lunch" (6pm after work): hardboiled egg, sliced green heirloom tomato, Emerald City Kraut (a local raw sauerkraut with kale and spices, just a little kick, hardly any calories). Went together very well...will do official dinner 9pmish. 'Night, all!
@wendyjane I am cooking with "lentilles du Puy" which are the one you seem to talk about. They are the only ones I really like and I can put them in anything really. They are packed with proteins which is great when you don't like tofu and are looking for vegetarian proteins

Last night went well, the stew was just delicious but I had a huge migraine in the evening and the only way to calm it down was with a slice of bread  As I only had less than 300 cal during the day it was fine. The next fast will probably be tomorrow
