After a prolonged birthday party with plenty of cakes spread over four days the scales weren't very nice this morning. I did skip a couple of breakfasts, and did plenty of exercise last week, but the damage was done in the other hours. A particularly nice Langhorne Creek Shiraz from 2005 and a Tasmanian sparkling were partly to blame (and the cheese and nuts that went so nicely with them). So here we go, first fast of the week. Dinner will be some Thai flavoured chicken with plenty of vegetables. Good luck fellow fasters.
I hope you had a fantastic birthday celebration and that today's fast is easy on you :-)

I'll be in once it's monday in the states.

thank you @Tracieknits. It was my daughter's 14th birthday but I celebrated like it was mine :)
Please send some of that warm weather over to us. It's too cold here to eat salad.
Wouldn't it be great if we could trade weather for even just a day?
Yes some warm weather would be nice,I did my Monday fast, dinner tonight was broccoli and salmon,I was feeling a bit hungry after that so had 4 walnuts and some pistachio nuts.
I'm fasting today. I don't really want to but I certainly need to, so that is what is going to happen. It's hot here in England and lots of people will be enjoying it. I will be indoors with the doors closed and the curtains drawn in an attempt to keep the house cool! No idea what I will be eating tonight. I will look for inspiration when I go shopping later!
Good luck to those fasting today! :clover: :clover:
I'm with you stowy @stowgateresident i cant take the heat,i'm sitting by my fan!
Good luck to you Marvellous Monday fasters! XX
Fasted today . Very hot here too so I had smoked mackerel fillet and lots of salad veg tonight. Didn't feel hungry at all during the day today...must be the heat so long may it continue!!
:like: Good for you, all who fasted today. I did, easier than usual because I drove a few hours. The heat hit me every time I had to get out for my appointment or store. I can't believe I drove 40 years without air conditioning! Of course, our summers are hotter now. I had whole milk in my tea, ice only in my water, and less than a cup orange juice before I remembered it was a Fast day. I am too hot and still not hungry, so more water. I am still not down to my lowest in May. :clover: :clover: Luck to all this week!
I'm in today as well; just 3pm here in Seattle, so haven't had any calories yet (broth in an hour, "snack" after work). Been very busy with work, so haven't really been thinking about being hungry at all.

One of the best things about 5.2 is that I know about hunger now--at least the transitory type we all confront/fear (not the "real thing")--and don't freak out if a meal is delayed. In fact, I often "save" my appetite for a particular meal, so I'm hungry enough to appreciate it. Conversely, I can tell the difference between, "Ooh, I'm nibbly," and "Oops, getting dizzy/feeling sickish." (I seldom experience the latter...actually, I did a lot when younger; think I had hypoglycemia...unfortunately, it made me "afraid" of being hungry long after the problem passed.)
Well I'm on track for my fast day. I have eaten 14 of the 15 points I targeted for today. That's roughly 50 calories per point/700 calories total.

It's evening and I think I'll be calling this day a success :-)
