Fasting today, Monday 22nd Feb
21 Feb 2016, 23:04
Hi all,
I'm in today. So far so good. Black coffee. Tonight it's fish soup. Today I am busy in the kitchen, making creme fraiche and bottling plums. I can't eat any of that, so I'm out of trouble. May the Fast be with You.
I'm in today too. Well, I will be in uhh... 10-11 hours or so, having just now finished dinner in what'd be your y-e-s-t-e-r-day!?

Not going to say what I made because that'd be cruel and unusual punishment in this thread.

That was cruel anyway! I'm left to imagine! Just had a bowl of garden tomatoes and cucumber. Delicious. Sleep well you over there.
Hi @Sallyo
I am in today too to get the week off to a positive start. Lunch is warm lightly steamed cauliflower with a teaspoon or 2 of ricotta stirred through and a sprinkling of salty herb mix. Delish! Eggs for dinner.
How do you make your creme fraiche Sallyo? Is this simple to do at home?
cheers
Hi all
I'm not fasting today as I had a colonoscopy this morning so as all I was allowed yesterday was clear fluids I am taking that in lieu of Monday this week. @MerryMelb I see you have a personal challenge to lose 2kg by Easter. You are welcome to join the Lenten Losers who are a diverse group with varying goals.

Let me know if you'd like to join.
Hello, I'm joining you today. My first fast in a couple of weeks. Every third Monday I have an evening meeting which keeps me busy. Sparkling water, soup for lunch, miso late afternoon and a fruit snack.
Looking forward to that cleansed feeling. :clover:
Haha! Sallyo...May the Fast be with you! Love it. Stealing it!
I'm in today and looking forward to it. Probably soup or salad later tonight. Got dogs to walk and paintings to paint today so I will be busy.
love cilla xxx
I'm here as usual on a Monday. Although my Libra trend weight is (very slowly) falling my Monday morning weigh in is stubbornly staying above 11 stone :struggle: I am going for a short break to Finland at the end of the week hopefully to see the aurora borealis and will miss my normal fasts next week so I was really hoping for a bit of progress this week - oh well! I seem to be essentially maintaining which is not so bad although I would like to shift that last 1/2 stone.
I am now fully recovered from my fall downstairs and will be off to aquajog shortly - keep strong Monday fasters!
Hope you are well recovered by now @Pilchards! Rest up and enjoy not fasting! I have just had a spicy fish soup and the OH made a fruit salad - grapes, banana, mango, melon. I feel quite full but I think I've stayed under the limit, or pretty close anyway. Have fun in Finland, @Lil. I hope you see the lights.@MerryMelbs: if you have one of those thermos thingies for making yogurt, you can easily make creme fraiche. I add 2 tablespoons of buttermilk - but Matthew Evans says you can use yogurt too - mixed into 500ml of cream, heat it in a bowl over hot water to 25 degrees, then pour it into a sterilised fowler's jar with a plastic lid and pop it in the thermos thingie, It stays there for 24 hours and then it goes in the fridge to further thicken up. Yum. I sell it for local currency.
I'm sort of fasting today. I am doing 16:8, but trying to keep one day really low cal. So today is the day. I'll try to stay around 700 calories. Soup for lunch, a banana mid afternoon and then a light dinner. Being able to start at 12 makes a huge difference for me.
Have a great fast day everyone!
That was my birthday yesterday, so I did eat all stuff that I can call my favourite. Today I had a bottle of greek yogurt and 2 apples. I think that will be enough)
Hi all fasters today,
I start my fast from the day before, so last night I had a coconut oil stir fry of lots of different low carb veggies, fresh ginger, chillies, herbs and soy sauce with a Quorn fillet, and no alcohol. No calories at all the rest of the night. This morning just a big strong black coffee, then lots of carbonated spring water with a fresh lemon and lime and some mint cut up in it. Raw extremely low carb veg dipped in salt/pepper/chilli flakes for lunch and a cup of veg stock/tumeric powder "soup" with fresh coriander leaves chopped into it. Tonight I return to normal eating with ....I won't say, don't want to tease anybody! But it will be accompanied by a large glass of red. Sorry!
I am still the same weight as on 1st Jan 2016 (10 stone) but the 3" I have lost from my waist is still off, and I think I am losing more - hurray!
I'm in today, just now having my pot o' green tea, the usual the rest of the day. Went out for happy hour yesterday, lotsa yummies so today is a welcome respite from stuffing my face...oh yeah, Friday was my birthday, so have been "indulging" a bit over the weekend.

Hmm...what's that 'old' saying?

"Better over the hill than under it." ?

"You know you're over the hill when you pick you speed." ?

No. That's not it either...

"You know you're getting old when an "all nighter" means you didn't have to get up to pee." ?

Or maybe:

"Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill." ?

Wait, wait! Don't go! Just one more:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I'm in today too, almost at the end of the day, but pretty hungry as there was an Incident with a chocolaete chip cookie earlier, and rather than abandon the day completely, I'm still trying to get to the end as close to 500 cals total as possible! So not very much dinner for me :-(
