I am aiming to fast today. It's now mid afternoon and I have had a boiled egg, 2 gherkins and lots of lettuce as a late lunch, having decided I couldn't manage to hold out til dinner time. And am now having my xth cup of black coffee - decaf now tho...

Last night was the first time since I started the latest challenge that I felt that I really did eat mindlessly. Having reviewed my consumption, it could have been a lot worse (ie the mindless eating was of nutritious food on the whole) but I still ate when not hungry or even really fancying the food. I still haven't worked out why I do this, but it presumably is a combination of factors (tired, unsettling windy cold weather, boredom, not keeping myself occupied, because I could, because the day before I had felt virtuous, because certain foods eaten triggered the "need" to keep eating, and so on and so on).

But I also tell myself that mindless eating once in 5 weeks is nothing to get too "upset" about. And a fast today is probably an appropriate way of dealing with it. I didn't end up with any fast days in the previous week, though there were a few days when I had long breaks without eating.

Anyway... I expect there might be some other Monday fasters?? Hope the day is going okay for you. :clover: :clover:
Hi, I am fasting with you, Sassy. I had a week end with wine and dessert. Very little wine and a low carb dessert (chocolate pie!). I put on about a 100 grams. But since my weekend away and eating normally my weight has not really gone down much. Mondays are my low eating days, so I'll see what tomorrow will bring. I will not fast this coming Saturday, and I am counting the days to that!!! I guess I've been doing this fasting regime about 60 days now, which is the longest time ever. Then I'll have most of November normal eating, and then in Advent begins my Advent fast. I do hope there'll be a Forum to write to then. It really helps!! Thanks!!!  :clover:
Hi there @Sassy1 and @Margotsylvia

I am fasting today - just coming to the end of my day. After a 3 day conference with lots and lots of food last week, so I really needed todays fast.

I am looking forward to some sunshine tomorrow, to brighten up our wet and windy Spring.

cheers!
I'm here as usual for a Monday. Had 2 of my adult children plus their partners here this weekend so a bit more consumed than usual but still a small loss this morning compared with last Monday. I've been to aquajog. Planning for a Halloween birthday party next Saturday. I want to make a summer pudding but decided not wise on a fasting day so that will have to wait till tomorrow.
I'm fasting today.

I've been away from the 5:2 for more than 12 months, and am now ready to get back into it, as it really is the best way to achieve the desired results.
I'm fasting today which is my third fast since I restarted 5:2 last Monday. It's been fine but I'm looking forward to leftover roast beef and vegetables for dinner later. I don't eat during the day as I find it easier to save all my calories for an evening meal.

Next fast will be Wednesday.
I've been in today, posting a little late--just midnight here. Will have my bedtime snack soon and off to dreamland... good wishes to those getting up on the other side of the world, and Happy Fasting!
