Good morning fellow fasters. Spring is not really happening here so I'm already feeling cold before my body realizes it's not getting anything to burn till 6pm tonight. However, I decided to make myself a green salad today as I was preparing one for my daughter to take to school (except hers has cannellini beans, caramelized onions, roast pumpkin and a home-made dressing, mine has three small tomatoes).

Anyone joining me?
Hi @wmr309

I am thinking of joining you... I made a decision not to fast on my normal Saturday, because I have been away for the weekend, but I seriously overindulged last night so would ideally like to fast today as "penance" - not that I think fasting should be viewed that way...

It's late morning and I am now feeling hungry, despite a full bloated tummy. Am having my first coffee for the day. Will see how I go. We are about to do the pack up and clean before we head home, so that, and the drive home, will keep me occupied, tho I do tend to get very hungry when travelling (even on a 2 hour trip).

Good luck and best wishes to all! :clover:

NB we have had 3 delightful sunny mornings while we have been away at Pt Lonsdale - so lucky! So parts of the state have been having some Spring!
Hi @Sassy1, please join me, it's rather lonely in here! We had such a carb-heavy weekend that I definitely need it (for example Sunday: pikelets for breakfast, home-baked brownies for m'tea, some cheese on biscuits mid-afternoon, piece of left over pizza for pre-dinner, noodles with stir-fry pork and vegetables for dinner and to top it off an apple/berry bake topped with double cream for dessert). If I want to be anywhere near my weigh-in number from last Friday I'd better make these two successful fasts this week, with light days in between.
@Wmr309 I know how you feel! Your weekend food sounds very yummy tho. See my blog if you want details of what I ate.

We are on our way home and I have had a hard boiled egg and hope that will get me thru til dinner. And another coffee or two...

Hi @Sassy1, you're an old hand at fasting so I don't want to criticize you but I just read several blogs of you and I wonder whether you're not obsessing too much?

One of the advantages of 5:2 is that you fast two days but not the other five and thus make it more sustainable in the long term. I do realise that some people prefer 16:8 but I can't remember whether you tried that.

Now that I'm keen to lose a bit more weight I fast two days and eat mindfully three days during the week but I eat what I like on Friday night and the remainder of the weekend (most days still healthy but if I'd eat like that five days a week I'd not be able to maintain, let alone lose weight). My only other little piece of wisdom I can bring to the forum is that once I start eating I feel like eating more so I've found it easier on fast days not to eat till dinner time (only have 2-3 coffees with a splash of milk) and sometimes skip breakfast on some of my light days to stop me wanting morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, etc.

Good luck. :clover: It's lovely to have you back. Do you need to lose much?
I am fasting today, because I am continuing my 'window regime'. I really do not have much to lose and it is very slow. I was 56.1 kg a week ago. but then all week my weight went up, and I was about 56,5 kg. Come week end, where I eat more. Low carb apple/blueberry pie, with a dollop of cream. And I lost both on Saturday and Sunday.!!!!
Mondays are always very light eating days. I weighed 56.2 kg this morning. I wonder whether I'll lose any more today.
it is a question of "wait and see".
I'm here for my usual Monday fast after 2 weeks in Lanzarote preceded by my son's wedding weekend. So far the damage does not seem too bad but I often find there is a catch up period after a break - like turning a n oil tanker round. I've been to aqua this morning. Got lots of indoor jobs to do to keep me occupied till supper time.
Hi, I'm on my usual Monday fast too, started by 7pm last night, hoping to eat salmon and salad after 6pm.
I'm so jumpy today, my younger son is in hospital having an operation, just waiting to hear all is well.
It's chucking it down with rain too.
All shall be well.
I'm in today, had only coffee and green tea so far. Busy with work, so haven't had a chance to think about food much, which is good. Just a bit till I have my broth...
Hope everyone managed an okay fast day!

Dear @azureblue, hard to fast when you have the worry about your son. Assume and hope all is well. :clover:

@Wmr309, thanks again for the welcome back and thank you very much for bothering to give your feedback, pls don't worry I will view it as critical (I didn't), I am very willing to hear anyone's thoughts that help me increase my insight into my food management. See my blog for further discussion!
Thank you @Sassy1, he came through ok, though I did experience a ripple of despair through my soul whilst out shopping, so assume that's when it happened. It always amazes me that strong mother-child connection, like a silver thread forever tugging us back together. It goes on to my grandchildren too I've found. Truly remarkable.
Does nothing for my weight however, having fasted for 23 hours I ended up eating soup and trifle!!
Whatever next :0)
