Fasting today Monday 4 May
03 May 2015, 21:22
Good morning tasters I'm in today. I know it's a Bank Holiday in UK today so it might be a bit quiet if people mix their weeks up. Anyway, business as usual here in Sydney. Tea and water all day at work then chicken wrapped in prosciutto, mashed pumpkin and sweet potato with a green veggie for dinner for around 450 calories. Weather seems to finally be on the up so will pop out for a lunchtime walk to avoid all the yummy smells in the lunchroom. Happy fasting everyone!

I'll be here in the morning, Pacific Time - so far its still Sunday evening. Last few days were a bit of a "bust" so tomorrow should be a nice, normal Monday fast-day - got quite a bit to keep me busy so, hopefully, it will be a fairly easy day - hopefully !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning Monday fasters! My OH & I are fasting today despite it being a Bank Holiday because we are trying to get back to a better fasting routine. We will not eat until supper but will have coffee & water & possibly a Miso soup around lunchtime.
I hope you all have a successful day

Fasting here today! I need it after a weekend of overindulgence! Plan is nothing but tea/coffee & water until dinner tonight. Good luck all!

I'm in, just starting on my first cup of tea. Almost 11 am and I am already wanting to eat. Can't tell if I'm truly hungry or my mind is wanting the food. Either way I will wait a while before having a salad. I can never make it to dinner time to eat all my calories.
So far it is sunny here but the forecasters are calling for rain. After my tea I'll be heading out for a walk. Gotta keep occupied.
Take care all, happy fasting

BruceE and I are in as well. We had quite the indulgent weekend including a dessert from Nigella's "Domestic Goddess" book, so we're needing a fast day. Since it will be pretty hot today (85F/29C) I"m planning on salads with chicken breasts for dinner. Our son will have the amazing leftovers from last night, and may just be relegated to eating in another room so as to not make mom too jealous :-)

I'm in as well for my usual Monday fast. Got a couple of hours or so till tea, so might have to resort to a Bovril to keep me going. Have got a couple of social engagements this week, so want to get a good start to the week.

I'm in. Had my coffee and some green tea. I indulged in Doritos yesterday and woke up thirsty and with my feet and hands puffy, so drinking lots of water. I knew it was going to happen. Why do I do that to myself? Bah...

Good luck all! :clover:

Just completed my first fast day of this week - only began 5:2 a week ago and seeing and feeling the benefits. Still weighing and calorie counting but soon hope to stop all that!

I couldn't manage it today as I was cooking for everyone and I find it too hard. But I have had a lower calorie day instead.

Oh boy, do I ever want to eat! I had a some lunch, a large salad and a piece of back bacon and just now some bouillon and watermelon. I'm wanting to hold out until 6 or 7 to have my supper. Don't know how I'll do it! More tea maybe? brush my teeth one more time? I did that earlier and it obviously didn't help, hence the bouillon and melon. Any suggestions?
I know most of you are either asleep or headed that way so I guess I'm reaching out to the US people. @O'Dell@lovemyparrot? are you two Americans? still up and about? How goes the fasting?

@stephd, I'm here on the west coast U.S. I can relate; some days (like today) I'm fine not eating till later; others, I wake up hungry and it's a battle all the way! Since I'm vegetarian, I have veggie broth; I add a tiny blob of coconut oil (butter would work too) to add extra satiety without many calories. And if I really must "snack," I try for something bulky (I've found that protein bars make me hungrier) but low cal. Though it sounds like you're doing what you need to...the main thing I'd say, is find something ELSE (non-food) to distract you...call a friend you haven't talked to for a long time, read a book, watch a movie...just try to fill those hours till "real" dinnertime comes. And try not to snarf it down, something I do when I get "too" hungry...

Hi, yes I'm here in So.Cal, USA - its 5pm here so only a couple of hours til my light dinner (mostly protein and a few veggies). I used to try and fast all day - just black coffee, then bouillon or miso, and try and wait til 7pm-ish dinner - I'd get so cranky and depressed, snapping at everyone - now I look forward to a spinach frittata/omelette about 2:30 or 3 - usually one large egg, a little added egg-white and some cooked frozen or fresh spinach added, cooked in a non-stick pan with a little Pam spray. Today there were a few mushrooms too. I usually have this with a cup of hot green tea. Now I'm planning my little dinner (hubs will have twice as much) - there should be room for a sugar free 5 cal. jello to end up with - also black decaf coffee in the evening, sometimes with a small handful of dry Cheerios cereal - not exciting, but gets me thru 'til bedtime.

Hope you manage to keep going and make it okay - you can even start planning your brekky tomorrow to keep you occupied. Good luck @stephd :clover:
