I am aiming to do a "proper" 5:2 500 cal fast day today. Will see how I go... I haven't Monday-fasted in ages.

I went to a Christmas street party yesterday and there was so much lovely food that I seriously over-indulged - and didn't stop when I got home...

Feel a bit seedy this morning (alcohol and not enough sleep don't help either!!), so not hungry as such, though imagine I will get the pangs later in the day.

I have an active morning ahead but this afternoon have no particular plans, so will need to find something to keep me busy. It's a miserable day, after a hot steamy one yesterday. That doesn't help!

Best wishes to all fellow fasters! :clover:
Thanks @Sassy1. We went to a garden party yesterday with some of the best food I've had for ages. I was the designated driver so focused on the food instead... Today I'm doing a proper fast. I'm at work and will only have water, tea, coffee and a nectarine but I've got no idea yet what to have for dinner. Perhaps soup or a vegetable stir fry as the weather has cooled down again.
Hi @wmr309

I would have loved to have known about 5:2 when still working - I think I would have found fasting easy then, as I was always so busy.

I am struggling today. My exercise class break-up was this morning, it wasn't a formal lunch but everyone else ended up ordering something to eat. I coped (and didn't order anything) at the time, but did have a hard boiled egg and some salad mid afternoon. Steak and veg for dinner, so I will go over the 500 cals, but as long as I resist having the chocolate and shortbread, I will be happy!!

Hope your day goes well - at least the weather did brighten up this afternoon.
Well done @Sassy1 as it's so easy to give in when eating out with others. A colleague brought in a choc mud cake but I declined. Tomorrow there will be fresh scones with cream and I intend to enjoy them instead.
I had indeed a vegetable stir fry tonight with a spicy sauce and that was filling (then, less so three hours later). Gym at 6am tomorrow, followed by a large coffee and homemade Bircher muesli, soaking overnight in the fridge. Perhaps I'll dream about it :)

I feel exactly the same, as you probably know. In fact, I think I was sort of "fasting" most days at work for years. Maybe that's why the weight has sort of been creeping up in recent years.
Hello, I'm in today, still early here (11am), so just going to make my pot 'o green tea. Not sure what else; will probably hardboil some eggs for later. Love those hardboiled eggs on a light day!
