Good morning!

I am aiming for a light day today, as "penance" for last night's overindulgence. Not hungry at all at the moment, but I know that will change... If can stick to my usual lunch (eating as late as possible so that I have some sort of reasonable period between when I last ate yesterday - which was very late in the evening - and when I eat again today) and a normal dinner, and no snacks beyond a very small amount of fruit and nuts, I will be happy.

Anyone else planning a fast (of some sort) today?
I will join you when Monday hits the east coast of the US :-) Right now I'm planning my Sunday dinner and indulgence
Yes I am Fasting today Sassy1 - I am an 'old' (in more ways than one) 5:2'er returning from 2013, (but will find a more suitable forum to talk about that), and this is my third fast day Thanks to @MerryMelb and her post about the Easy Diet Diary app. and reading MM "Blood Sugar Diet' book I think I am better prepared to go on from weight loss first time round and reach my goal this time. My Fast Day calories aim is between abt 360-400 so other than a cup of coffee mid morning with my husband I don't eat until my evening meal which I have found suits me best.
Good to see you here again @cmce. I did notice that you had posted about the easy diet app. Always nice to see some other Aussies around!

Best wishes and good luck for finding a sustainable way of eating that helps you reach and maintain a healthy weight that you are comfortable with.

Seeing the weight go down is motivating and obviously a goal for many, but do reward yourself for any of your positive eating-related behaviours - after all, those are things we have much more control over than how much weight we lose. That is, you should congratulate yourself for such things as a successful fast day, not snacking if you are not hungry etc, rather than for any weight lost (that would be part of the reward). If you follow!

PS I have just had a mid (well, late really) morning coffee - assume you have had yours too? I am starting to get hungry...
Morning!
@Sassy1 - If youre doing "penance" then I need to be punished more today!! My weekend was too indulgent, to many crisps and wine. I put on 2 kg - I'm hoping it's just water weight after all the salt I consumed.

This weeks challenge for me will be to eat 500 cal on my fast days and not go over. Also to eat clean on the other days.
Still sticking to my 3:4.

Good luck all for your challenges! :clover: May the force be with you!
I'm joining too when we finally catch up with you guys on the other side of the world :) Just because I had a couple of glasses of red wine tonight while waiting to see Gaga perform.
Hi @wakki22, I would expect almost all of that 2kg is water weight, and that should go after a fast day, or at least most of it. Good luck! :clover:

And please do post your weekly challenge in the relevant discussion thread.

I am holding out just a little while longer before I have lunch. Having another peppermint tea...
@Sassy - Ooops!! Sorry - I was typing my first one and then it all went pear shaped and I lost what I'd written. And then I guess I went to the wrong place. I'll repost my challenge in the right place :) thanks for letting me know
And I'm in today. Had a faintly indulgent long weekend so ready to get into it for three fasts this week on Mon, Wed and Fri instead of my usual Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Nothing until tea time when it'll either be avocado or egg on toast.
Making marmalade today so that'll keep me out of mischief.
Was Lady Gaga good @Zesty?
Saw Fun Lovin' Criminals on Sat night and had a great time. Much dancing so hopefully that'll help offset the indulgence.
Good luck fellow fasters
:clover:
Lady Gaga was fantastic!! First I thought I'm just thinking that because I'm biased since I like her and think she's tremendously talented, but then I saw that even non-Gaga fans admitted that she was awesome.
Everyone thought she was going to make some kind of political statement, but she said she wanted to do something that unites people and makes everyone feel included. She did just that.
I'm in today too, and so is BruceE.

I will have to check out gaga on you tube. I heard she did "This Land Is My Land", which is actually a left wing protest song written by Arlo Guthrie, and I'm sure she did "Born This Way".

Had a great weekend, lots of treats but stayed within my plan. My weight today is 1.1lbs less than last Monday, so I'm pleased with that.

This weeks plan includes light days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. :-)

Glad to see Jane and Cmce here!
That's interesting about 'This land is my land', I didn't know that. Going to read up about it.
Yeah, she did 'Born this Way' as well, guess that's the closest she came to making a political statement. I expected her to say something though, but it's probably better she didn't.
I'm here! I am still doing well on my fast day, drinking a cup of hot earl grey tea right now. I need to make dinner soon. Why oh why do I plan to cook on fast days? sigh. Anyway, my backup plan if I can't handle it is a bit of lean turkey breast and a grapefruit if I can't wait until dinner.

I saw the Gaga performance - it was great. I definitely think playing the most popular gay anthem ever, Born This Way, with dancers of all races, covered in glitter is an extremely political statement :) so I don't know she needed to add any sort of speech to her performance. I think it's rather awesome the NFL chose her.

So I will drink my tea, and then get into the tasks of making dinner, finishing the laundry and changing the sheets on my bed, and hopefully this fast day will be put to rest soon enough
Yeah, you're right about 'Born this way' - the performance definitely had it's message. I think people are just to used to Gaga being over the top with everything, that some probably saw it in that light.

My fast is going well too - just had another cup of coffee, which always helps. The best thing for me about fast days... is I *feel* skinnier the next day - regardless of what the scale says! Love it.
Sounds like everyone in the US enjoyed Lady Gaga and the SuperBowl - I will check for a YouTube clip.

And also sounds like the fast days have gone well - or are still going well for some in the US! I was happy with my light day and am enjoying a "normal" day today. Didn't have brekkie as ran out of time. That gives me some wiggle room, but I have to be careful not to overdo it and still listen to my body re hunger.

 :clover:
