Ok, so I failed yesterday and am having another go today. Someone mentioned it was fish and chip Friday in the canteen and my resolve melted! I should confess that it was worth it, the battered snapper was lovely, but I digress!
So, here goes for today instead!!
I may be a no show, it depends on how the day pans out. We will be child/ren free Saturday, so I may stick to the fast, I may just have a blow out one meal (a 22:2) with just hubby, or a 16:8. It really does depend on what sneakiness hubby has planned. My partner in fasting is one of the ones away for the day (my eldest son) and he is planning on burgers etc, so not a fast day for him.
I am in today as part of my 5-day ADF, hoping to shift some of the festive season indulgence before I step on the scales on Tuesday...
I managed my first fast day in 2 weeks on Thurs ok; so far so good today, but I do feel hungry!!
Am planning to have all my cals in the one meal this evening.
Hope the day is going ok for Debs and Julie and all of today's fasters :D
Yes, I'm doing my first 'proper' fast since before Christmas and I have to say, I'm really struggling. It's almost like I've started all over again (I found the first few fasts back in March quite difficult). I didn't put on any weight over Christmas but I felt like I needed a bit of a detox and was missing that really good feeling which normally comes on a fast day and the following day. But I've had a headache all day and I feel quite sluggish - nothing like my usual energy boost on a fast day. I'm also very preoccupied with what I'm going to have for dinner tonight - normally I barely think about it.

I guess the moral of the story is ... don't stop fasting because it will be difficult when you start again! (for me, anyway)
I'm in :) just got in from nights, having drunk copious amounts of black coffee (to stay awake) and water (to stop myself snacking) I'm now off to bed to sleep the rest of my fast away. However will probably get v little sleep as will be on the loo all day! :(

Night all and happy fasting x
My first fastday...had melba toadt and cucumber for breakfast totalling 70 calories, hope the rest of the day goes good!!!!
Good luck Mark with your fasting. Don't be too hard on yourself if you struggle to start with; it can take a couple of fast days to get into it.
I am in for a kind of a fast without being a real fast as it would be my 4th of this week and it would be way too much as I have nothing to lose anymore.

Saturdays are becoming cool and relaxed days with a slow cooker meal to not have dishes to clean and a fuss in the house as it's also cleaning day. So tonight it will be a homemade soup with cauli, carrots, onions, green peas and chicken stock (no cream) with some roasted pineapple for dessert.
[tag]Manderley,[/tag] please forgive me for commenting but I am a little concerned as to why you are continuing to fast so often when you are under your target weight? Do you still feel the need to fast 4 times a week to stay in control or has it just become a habit? I hope you are still eating sensibly and enjoying your food and just tell me off if you're happy about it. Just thinking about your health and welfare as you have done so well! x
Thank you for your concern, Callyanna, and I understand how it could be concerning. Please don't worry, I am feeling fine, just not hungry, as it happens sometimes so I eat what I crave and right now I am craving soup.... Plus I am reorganizing everything around me and still don't have found my new marks
Just as long as you are ok @Manderley and are aware of taking things too far as to your weight loss. I'm sure your lovely man won't want to see you disappearing before his eyes and will still want to be able to hold you without fear of snapping you in two!
I've just read your entry on your other thread and understand that you have an aversion to any 'fatty' foods, so do I to be honest but I am trying to up my intake of good fats as I don't want to lose any more weight either! Could you maybe consider having little snacks of almonds or other nuts or seeds which don't taste 'greasy' but are very healthy?
I'm still here, just waiting to see if the lads bring home Kebabs or not. I hope they remember that I like the chicken ones. I also love the lamb ones but not on a fast day. I don't have the pitta bread with mine, so its just chicken, sauce and salad. It may even fit in with the fast day calories.
Managed to get to nearly 6pm, without any food - for the first time - we'll see if this has any effect on the scales though!
Well the kebabs arrived and I was so hungry I forgot to weigh the meat. Then I had some chips with it (fries). Oops. So I've had a 22:2 instead of a 500kcal fast. I hope the scales are nice to me tomorrow.
Well Julie you've still had the health benefits of a 22 hour fast so I'd count that as a success!
