No Fasting thread for yesterday, Friday the 10th!
Well, I'm in today, very unusual for me, a Saturday fast. It's the DODO challenge. I expect other challengers to join me today.
A friend will be here for lunch so I'm boiling up a Christmas ham bone which I got out of the freezer yesterday in a fit of 'cleaning out the freezer' and I'm going to make a stock and then make a soup with carrots, onions and frozen peas which I think will be less calorific than spilt peas. I have a recipe in a 5:2 magazine. It says it comes to 150 calories a serve. So I can have some toast with that and maybe even a very small slice of the cake I made yesterday. Or no cake and an egg for dinner. That would be a better idea. The cake has butter cream and passionfruit filling - sorry to mention it. I'll make room for it in the back fridge, out of sight. Right, time to get the day going with a black coffee.
Oh hi again Sally! Yes i' m in ..dont really like a weekend fast but think i' ll try a B2B coz will be difficult this coming week to squeeze two fasts in..
Yr soup sounds good! Enjoy! X good luck all sizzling satday fasters! X
I'm I'm today! And after yesterday's meltdown, I totally need it. Good luck, Saturday fasters!!
I'm in today and, like @Sallyo am a bit bewildered, Saturday? and I won't be fasting on Sunday!
This DODO challenge is shaking things up!
This will be the fourth fast this week.
Have to admit that I am feeling slimmer and also a bit deprived.
Out for coffee with a friend and it will only be coffee. Then nothing until tea time.
Good luck fellow fasters :clover:
Hi everyone, I'm in today too as part of the DODO challenge. Finding it hard today as husband home and I cooked him bacon and poached eggs on toast for brekkie (it was totally my choice). Did a step class this morning and just had a tin of tuna for lunch as I was feeling a bit wobbly. Salmon fillet and asparagus for dinner. My dog died this week so I am missing out on my twice daily walk - it's just not the same without her. :( :( Hope you all have a great Saturday fast day.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog @pilchards, that is very sad.

I'm in today for my third DODO fast. Luckily, over the past 5 weeks or so, I have thrown in the odd Saturday fast....so hopefully it won't come as too much of a shock, though it is always hard watching those around you scoffing their faces!

Good luck everyone! Xx
Hi everyone. DODO #1 checking in with her first Saturday fast during this challenge. Shake it off like Taylor swift or shake it up like the DODOers.
Morning all! So good to see so many of you already...and most of you are DODOs!! I do hope you manage to get through your (first?) Saturday fast. Don't worry, next week its a Sunday fast!
@Pilchards I was so sorry to hear about your dog. You must miss them terribly.xx I must say, though, you have done amazingly well to be able to cook egg and bacon without so much as a taste. Well done!
Carie? @carieoates is this your first Saturday fast evs? Or just the first in a while? How did the daily weigh go today?
Go DODOs!
Bean xx
So sorry @Pilchards to hear about your lovely dog xx
#22 DODO It's my first Saturday fast. I don't know if I blew it. Lunch was pea and ham soup, low calorie but one piece of bread and butter. a glass of wine, and a slither of cake. I didn't eat as much as everyone else: they had bigger bowls of soup, more than one piece of bread, bigger glasses of wine and bigger slices of cake. I just couldn't pass up on anything, so I down sized instead of giving it up. I didn't eat any breakfast and now I am going to have a cob of corn for dinner with a cup of black tea. It's not too late to pass up on the corn. Perhaps I'll have a cup of tea now and see how I feel in an hour or so. I might be able to miss it altogether and then I think I might squeeze through under 500.
Respect @sallyo - I know how hard it is when all around you are able to eat! Sounds like you have done really well today...

I always enjoy reading how your day has gone..whilst mine is always less than halfway through! It's great to know whenever you have completed a successful fast...as it keeps me mindful.

Have a lovely weekend x
Fasting today too, think I have gone to around 600 cals but I'm ok with that as i went for a lovely long run this morning. Had an outrageous eating and drinking day yesterday, it will be interesting to see if the overindulgence on feed days calms down during the DODO challenge. Or not. Good luck everyone else who is saturday fasting.
@sallyo ..ditto what Hazel said..you handled that beautifully x well done on managing it!
Must be near the end of yr day now so i hope you sleep well and have some nice grubX
@roglow i think 600 cals is totes acceptable, specially coz you did a run too :like: x
I'm in for my normal Saturday fast. Less than an hour till tea!
Hi @chrisP we're nearly there ! X
