Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.
Please don't make extra threads in here besides the daily fasting threads, if you've got a question please post it in the relevant forum or ask in today's 'Fasting Today' thread, thank you.
That means that this week will now go down as a 5:2 week (I have got used to doing 6:1 until now), and I am fasting today despite the fact that the results of my daily weigh-ins over the weekend show that there is no actual need for me to do so. That is because when I weighed myself this morning, I discovered that my weight is down by a further 0.6kg from yesterday. With that, I have now just beaten my all time record for my lowest ever weight under this WOL by 0.3kg, and is equivalent to 10 stone 13 pounds.
Whenever I have fasted until now, I have consistently recorded a weight loss of about 1.7kg at the following morning's weigh-in. I can't have burned all of that in body fat as it is impossible to be at a big enough calorie deficit for that. Therefore, those weight losses can only be almost entirely due to a loss of water content. Now, the question that will now answered is whether or not that reduction in my water content will be less this time as a result of starting off from a much lower weight.
If that does end up being the case, the resulting weight loss should be smaller, especially as the low current value for my weight also probably shows that my body is currently carrying much less in the way of undigested food than normal. If I still end up losing that same 1.7kg at tomorrow's weigh-in, my weight at that weigh-in will then be 67.5kg (I am currently 69.2kg) and not only would that smash that record for my all-time lowest weight (which will be beaten anyway with today's fast), but tomorrow's weight would then be the equivalent of 10 stone 9 pounds which would now be challenging a potential target of 10 and a half stone.
This weekend's weight losses have come from some very careful eating over the weekend resulting from the fact that my recent record at weekends under this WOL has not been good (last week at this time, I was was 73.6kg and so, my current weight is a massive 4.2kg or 9 pounds lower than what it was at the same time last week), and also because I am a bit scared to eat more just now in any case, in case that leads to a massive weight gain of around 6 pounds that I got on one occasion last week.
I have talked about a weekend curse, quite a lot on this forum recently but this weekend's eating habits and the resulting weigh-in results have shown that there was never going to be any chance of the weekend curse striking again this time. That is, unless you believe that the weekend curse has still happened as a result of my weight having dropped to below the lower limit of the weight range that I have been trying to maintain in the longer term (I would now actually have to gain 6 pounds by tomorrow's official weekly weigh-in, to be at figure of 11 stone 5 pounds that I've become used to recording at those weigh-ins, and that is unlikely as I will be fasting today).
However, I'm not even bothered about that just now as there is likely to be a lot of over-indulging over the festive period and there is where I am likely to gain a lot of weight back again. By deliberately going below my weight maintenance range on this occasion, I will hopefully be giving myself some extra leeway going into those festive over-indulges and I know that I will be gaining that weight back again anyway, I'm happy enough with that. Furthermore, nearly all of the weight that I gain with over-indulging will usually be due to water retention with the biggest such resulting weight gain occurring with the first day of over-indulging. That means that this weight gain actually slows down over time as I continue to over-indulge and so, going into that from a lower weight should provide the best opportunity of being not all that much above the upper limit of my weight maintenance range when I come back to this WOL in the new year, or possibily even still being within that maintenance range when I come back.
Diving daughter will be at home when we get in, so I'll have something to eat then.
Or I'll see lots of lovely goodies at the airport and eat them. And enjoy them!
We'll see.
Good luck to the Sunday fasters and welcome to Andrea.
I'm now all geared up with the Christmas Radio Times and am looking forward to a feast of great films (not to mention food!)
And then, just when you think all the fun is over...on New Year's Day "Sherlock" is back and I just can't WAIT to find out how he faked his own death...it's EXCITING!
Er hum sorry about that...got a bit carried away

It's a cheapy flight, so catering has to be bought. I'll pass on that thank you and buy a big bottle of water to keep me hydrated. I get really dried out on the plane.

@janeg. Hope you had a lovely time in Budapest. Such a beautiful city. Airport days are great days to fast as you can't taste anything anyway at 37000 feet. travel well and have a great fast day.
I'm fasting too today. I did a straight 5:2 last week, but overeaten massively on the other days, so today really needs to happen.
Short term goal now is not to gain over the next 2 weeks. Moogie's blog with the tips for holiday fasters is great and I am going to try to follow some of her strategies.
Good luck everyone, hoping your fast and renew works wonderfully for you today

I will need to fast on Tuesday this week too as I don't think Wednesday will be a very good day to fast this week .
Have a good day and a great Christmas.
Watched OH eat salmon, potatoes and veg with a couple of glasses of white
It was the marzipan your honour!
Beloved decided we would onto the hotel patisserie for brekkie. And it's a marzipan specialist. And they had marzipan, and more marzipan.
Then the darling surprised me on the plane with more marzipan.
It was damned good
