Hi everyone!
Have brought forward my normal fasting day from Monday to today, as I wanted another fast day before I weigh myself before going away for a week.
Also to make up for 2 evenings of overindulgence... :(
So it is December already, and 3 weeks before we head off on our holidays. :D Hard to believe.
We have a warm summery day for the start of summer! Yeah :)
Good luck to today's fasters - I know there won't be many - and good wishes to all :D
Hello again Sassy! I am doing a partial fast today as we have a farewell lunch with friends tomorrow and one on Tuesday as well! So I thought I'd do a mini one today as we are having our traditional Xmas dinner this evening, namely Pasta Vesuvius with a bottle of Durif, so I shall save myself for all that lovely molten mozzarella!!!
I like the fact that I don't feel afraid of deciding that I am not going to eat for a few hours, and not collapsing in a heap!!
Totally agree Debs! I generally use the same strategy now when I am going out for dinner - ie not eat til then - if I can manage it. Which I am much more able to do now than I could have earlier in the year :) :)
Am on my third herbal tea for the day, and have had one coffee - the coffee really helps, I can feel the caffeine flowing!!! I try to not eat til dinner time on a fast day, so that I can have more of a meal - esp as my cal limit is 350 due to my low TDEE cos I can't exercise much as I am recovering from knee reconstruction which takes months... :(
But that's okay - a minor challenge compared to what many others are facing.
Enjoy that lovely meal tonight, plus the celebrations to come :D
Morning sassy and debs.
I'm in today for my usual first of three.
debs, what is pasta Vesuvius? Sounds intriguing.
Hope the knee recovery is progressing sass.
Wonder if anyone else is in ?
Hi Sassy, I feel for you as I had a double arthroscopy which laid me up for a while and was slow to fix.
Pasta Vesuvius - yum! Render down a tin of tomatoes with fresh oregano until very thick. Cook your pasta and then add a ball of mozzarella, broken up plus plenty of parmesan plus the tomato and wait for the mozzarella to melt in the saucepan. Dish up and make a mess as the mozzarella strings all over the place! It is our celebratory pasta dish (we are pastafarians!!!)
Yum Debs!!
Hi Jane - there doesn't seem to be many Sunday fasters yet...
Am on my second cup of coffee, now only 2 hours til dinner time so think I will survive!
Time to get the washing in; so nice to feel warm :D

I'm joining you for my second fast of the week! I went back and forth about eating the very first choccie in my advent calendar - then ate it :-) Have to have little pleasures in life!

It was only a tiny piece of choc, and now there's nothing until dinner when I'll see what I fancy. Either a mug of bouillon or some zucchini noodles with a bit of tomato sauce on. Yum!

Good luck today, fasters, and happy 1st of Advent!
I'm in today, I'm a mainteneer now & the weight is holding real steady so I rarely do a full fast any more (as I was continuing losing weight, which I didn't want) but I go away this evening on a 4-day business trip, full English beakfasts followed by lunch & evening meals all with customers (so VERY difficult to be careful although I'll do my best) so I thought I'd give myself a fighting chance by knocking a quick fast in today. It would be SO sad, after 3 1/2 months maintenance, to see my weight go up BEFORE Christmas :(
Hi AnnieD
Agree that none of us want to see a weight increase before Christmas :(
A fast in advance of your trip sounds like a good idea; maybe also as soon as you get back?
Whatever, enjoy the food on offer while away - eat the things you like best, give the rest a miss! (But I don't think you need any advice, having done so well on 5:2 then maintenance :D )

Kawberlin - doesn't sound like you eat much on your fast day, so why not enjoy an advent choccie! :)

My dinner is now eaten - fish and lots of veggies, and an apple. I do have a few cals left from my fast day allowance, will think about what to have. (I am still hungry!!)

Happy fasting :D
Decided to repair today. Pulling up my socks and switching to ADF in the run into Christmas. Like a nerd, I have worked it around my social engagements so far, so any new ones coming in will need to fit around fast days! Happy fasting today. :like:
Its my first fast of the week today after a super indulgent and rather delicious thanksgiving dinner last night :like:

I just had a bowl of porridge made with water (150 calories), and I'm saving the rest for dinner around 6pm of fish and veggies, 300 calories, and a handful of sunflower seeds as a before bedtime snack to stop hunger pangs waking me up during the night

Happy fasting - I feel good, positive (and now full :-))
I'm wrapping up the day today. First liquid only fast in a while. Bulletproof coffee and then @juliana.rivers recommended recipe for red lentil and carrot soup. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3141 ... oupFeeling very satisfied
How did everyone do?

I just finished my dinner and am drinking ginger tea. I kept myself busy and it worked this afternoon, I didn't even think about food once :-)

It's only 6pm, I'm going to make sure I don't sleep too early so I can hopefully get a full nights sleep
