I am in again. This is my 5th fast day since last Saturday (so I have been doing real intermittent fasting). The next one won't be till next Saturday, as I am travelling and I wanted to get hard back into it, after a 4 week holiday, where fasting suffered badly and eating wasn't the healthiest.

It seems to have helped me get to be pre-holiday weight, which is good.

The usual Sunday fare for me today. I have my asparagus and mushroom frittata - so it's a slice of that for both lunch and dinner (hubbie is on today too, so that means we use all 4 portions and there is no waste and not much more cooking). Have just had it with a cucumber salad for an early lunch and will have it with steamed broccoli and a carrot and fennel soup for dinner. Comes out to 500 calories. Hubbie had a banana for breakfast to make his 600.

Good luck everyone. Hope I'm not the only one in. I think as the UK wakes up there will be more Sunday fasters!
Hi there - you're not alone, I'm in today too :-)

Didn't really plan to do Sunday, but as I woke so late and thought about what a busy week I had ahead, seemed that today was a good day to start as I was already nearly half way through!

Next fast will be Wednesday.

Saving it all for dinner tonight - fish and salad on the menu.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.
Back to work today - what a strange thing for me! And first fast of the week. Another week of 4:3. Usual no food during the day and poached eggs for tea. TiareMaori, could you please share your frittata recipe? It sounds lovely. Good luck to fellow fasters- there tends not to be many of us on a Sunday.
I'm here. I usually do Monday/Wednesday but a change in rehearsals has pushed me to Sunday/Tuesday. But that's OK, this WOE is so flexible. I've done a load of washing, some dusting, cleaned the loo and read about 3/4 of Big Brother. A strange book to read on a fast day!
@janeg the recipe is posted already. Here's the link. Only 183 calories per portion, which is why I like it so much. It's tasty and filling and allows "extras".

I'm in for fasting today :) . Just ran my 5 km. Porridge at 1130. I've been using soy milk but I read the original 5 2 book last night and apparently cows milk has a lower GI. Do I switch though because, all in all, soy milk is generally better for you?
I'm doing today too. Monday is my usual day, but we're seeing friends, so was going to move it to Tuesday, but that makes me feel somehow behind, so today seemed ideal, especially as I've rather overdone the eating in the last few days!
Hope it's a smooth day for us all.
Im fasting today too, but my heart doesnt feel into it. After just one month at this, Im aready stalled. I had a great start, losing 9 pounds after the first 6 fasts, felt great. Then a small gain, then a few pound gain the following 2 weeks. I know the larger gain was probably due to having and excess amount of wine over the weekend (friday-saturday), but I would do that before 5:2 and would not gain 3 pounds from it.

But, I had a good fast day Thursday, and will have a go at it today and see what tomorrow brings. Nothing is easy, is it? ;)

You may want to look into researching soy milk, or soy anything. New studies are saying , soy for women is NOT a good thing, it sparks estrogen production and can feed and/or contribute to breast cancer. I dont know how much of this to hold stock in, but I used to use alot of soy milk and soy products in general, and I am currently in treatment for breast cancer, and my oncologist said to keep away from soy. Have you tried almond milk? Its very good..

So sorry to hear that. I hope the treatment is progressing well. I've read that fasting might be helpful at this time so keep it up!
First fast for me. I don't think Sunday will be a regular day, but OH is away and I don't have to think about feeding him.

Had scrambled egg with green pepper and chilli for brunch. Looking forward to cod and broccoli for supper.

Perhaps I shouldn't be writing this - I'm thinking about food and now I'm hungry!

Time for some distraction activities (and black coffee).

Start drinking lots of water, or flavored waters, it helps :-), good luck on your first fast
