So this is my 2nd fast day, I know it will take a lot of willpower...but I was successful on Friday my first fast, so I know I can do this. I am doing 4:3 for a little while. So I am doing this

2000 cals, 500 cals, 2000 cals, 500 cals etc.

Who else is fasting today? good luck to everyone, I believe in you all.
On fasting days, am I the only one who some days takes it hour by hour?

My dinner is at 5pm tonight :victory: :victory: :victory:
well, I'm not fasting today, but I fasted yesterday, and I do admit to clock-watching a little bit - 6 pm is usually my fast-day dinner time, so I'll often say to myself, "only 3 hours till you can eat something" - I find it quite reassuring, and in the mean time, I have plenty of decaf green tea and lime-kissed mineral water.

Happy sunday fasting, everyone!
I'm not physically hungry but mentally hungry if that makes sense? I think I am hungry because my mind knows I have not eaten breakfast (it's nearly 11am here) it really is mind over stomach on these days.
yes, totally makes sense to me, @Carley! It does take a little bit of getting used to, deciding that eating isn't an option. But for me, it's not so much brain against body, but more actually holding myself through it, a bit like a good parent (if you had one of those? sometimes less common than you might think!). For me my self-talk goes something like,"oh darling, so you're feeling hungry or wanting to eat something? Well, you'll be able to eat something in just a few hours/tomorrow, but in the meantime perhaps a nice cup of green tea might do the job? And you might also like to really go into the experience you've having at the moment - are you feeling something? Is it in your belly? Now spend a moment and really try to experience it fully!" etc etc. I find some really interesting things come out of that kind of "meditation" that takes you to very creative places, and also has the effect of distracting your inner "toddler" from having a hissy fit in the meantime.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like to dive into experiences deeply, it can be a great way to go!
