Fasting today Sunday 8th June
08 Jun 2014, 05:15
Had no intention of fasting today but I didn't get around to eating breakfast before I went out for coffee and a date scone and it's the middle of the afternoon and I'm still not hungry so I think I'll skip eating for the rest of the day and call it done!
Anyone joining me?
Hi my Chooky Chum!It may be a fast day for me,depends how the day pans out. Ive done 4:3 this week but if i fast today,it will be a ADF week, for only the second time in my 5:2 history,so i' m tempted! XX
I'm here. I have to be seeing as I only managed Thursday this week! Going well so far, I'm going liquid only/zero cals today after MUCH overindulgence this weekend. Doing my body a favour today I think...
I am in today for my usual fast day. I seem to be going off the rails somewhat and have gained over 3 pounds in a week.
Trying to figure out the problem: Didn't really have a proper fast day last week; more like a couple of 16:8 days. More white carbs (i.e. white bread) than I have had for a long time.

But the real problem is likely alcohol. I do not have any on fast days (strict rule) so therefore I didn't have any alcohol-free days last week. And I had 3 - 5 drinks every day. This is a real problem. I can go without drinking but find it almost impossible to stop after just one, once I start. I know that alcohol, although technically not a carbohydrate, kicks you out of fat burning mode even if doing low carb.
There.. confession done.
Plan for this week: 3 proper fast days; limit drinks to 2 max on non-fast days; low carb; and of course, hanging out here on the forum for support and inspiration. Thanks, buddies, for listening.
I'm not quite sure what I'm doing today as I'm experimenting with 16:8 or other eating windows. Is that still fasting :?:

I've done a few days like it over the last week and think its easy enough, but not sure how it's going to pan out weight loss wise. Truthfully, I'm jut trying to practise damage limitation as much as anything else. Yesterday was a hungry day and I was supposed to be fasting. I made it to 4pm them gave in. I guess though that's a perfectly acceptable eating window day. I'm still working out the plan in my head.
I am also fasting today, because I am trying to maintain. And I read about the helpful Maintenance advice here, that it is a good thing to have a 1 kg window for the weight to fluctuate in between, before reacting.
Well, my weight still nearly always creeps up, if I only do Thursdays. So this week I will be doing ADF to get rid of that one kg. Then I can hopefully start maintaining again.
Had a 100 cal snack at 15:00, feeling OK.

Hi folks!

I'm fasting today. I usually fast Monday, but I got a stomach bug a few days ago and eating has not been fun, so I thought it might be helpful to give everything a rest today. On top of that my husband is spending the whole day out with a friend so it will be that much easier to fast today.
I've unexpectedly joined you today! I usually fast on a Monday, but the way the day has panned out, and I haven't eaten anything so far and it's almost 4pm, means I'll do it today and not tomorrow :)
Going well so far, water and black coffee seeing me through. I last did a zero cal fast 2 weeks ago, both times seem easier than 500 cal days :o mad innit!
Oh turns out quite a gang of us in today! :like: go forth andfast! X
Roll on bedtime.. I cd eat a horse between two bread vans
@winsome yr 16:8 will be a fast day if you only have 500 cals in yr window
@chichi good lyck with yr zero fast..if you can manage it,it will mean the Hunger Monster slumbers on and on..
I managed a liquid fast last week..not zero cal tho..its beyond me..
@radleykitten and @chook i love that sort of fast day that just creeps up on you!
Chool yr day will be over now!
I can't wait for tomozz..a very late brekky of peaches with some single cream is on my menu x
I had 300 cals of ham, cheese and baby plum tomatoes! I think I was over thinking it a bit and my mind got the better of me.... Still, it's a successful fast nonetheless :-)
That was a very good fast@chichi13 well under500 cals and protein/ fat and lycopene in the toms..vit c too perhaps :?: x
Switched my fast day from Monday to Sunday this week; my friend won VIP movie tix which include a cocktail hour for tomorrow, so I don't want to be fasting for that! 2pm here, just having my usual cuppa broth around this time; going out skating in a bit. First time skating while fasting, just a little nervous; bringing along my default fasting snack of berries and fat free Greek yogurt. Wish me luck!
Made it through the day, skate and all, just fine. And we went for a walk, about a mile and a half, after skating 6 miles. I think I'm winning my friend over, he saw that I had plenty of energy and was not starving. I had my yogurt and berries at the normal time (4pm) and am now home (almost 8pm) and will be eating dinner soon. So, my first "switching" fast day AND first "skating while fasting" day was a success!
