Good morning Thursday fasters - starting the thread from sunny Sydney. I love how it takes nearly two days for the Thursday peeps on the west coast of North America to catch up - it really is an international community.
Tea, water and perhaps an apple today as I have an early evening appointment so won't get to dinner until around 8 pm and I normally try and eat at around 6.30 on a fast day. Yummy potato, cauliflower, pea, spinach, quinoa and chickpea curry for dinner for around 400 calories. I am doing a vegan challenge with my daughter for lent and finding lots of good recipes that give me enough protein without meat based products. Let us know what you will be eating for your 500 calories and Happy Fasting everybody!
Hi Pilchards, many thanks for leading us out and happy fasting to you. It's 1.30am here in the UK, I'll fast when sunrise arrives. Tea, tea and sparkling water for me. Egg and spinach for lunch, salmon and veg for dinner, small portion of mixed berries ahead of bedtime. Otherwise the kitchen door is firmly closed.
I'm ready for this fast and feeling mindful. Best to all Thursday fasters :clover:
Only my second fast so similar eating as Monday. Yogurt and apple, veg soup and small piece of chicken with salad, can see I need to get more creative otherwise it will get boring
Good Morning Thursday fasters
I'm joining you all today, but I must admit not feeling my normal smiley self today (it's one of those days when nothing is wrong, don't feel ill, but could quite easily go back to bed). I've been to the Asda to stock up on fizzy water and alittle fruit for work and hopefully some get up and go:-).
I know all I have to do today is have a read at all the members motivating posts
Good luck everyone
Hi, this is my very first fast day. I had a few cups of coffee this morning, with milk (reckon about 150 cal or so) so I'll need to be quite careful this evening. I'm thinking huge salad with big dollop of cottage cheese, maybe a hard-boiled egg. Do I really need to calorie-count lettuce or can I assume it's "free"?
I'm finding my thoughts turning to food entirely too often but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to manage until dinner time.
Looking forward this journey!
Jill
Hi to all the newbies! (yes, lettuce is free!)

Today is my fastiversary - three years of 5:2, or sometimes 6:1. So I thought it was appropriate to fast today, though I usually leave two days between fasts, and I fasted Tuesday this week.

Pilchards, your curry sounds great!

Happy fastiversary wendyjane. Congrats on today's fast and the last three years. I love hearing the success stories, this WOE rocks!
I got through my first fast day without too much trauma, don't think I went over 500 cal, and the scales this morning recorded a drop of 0.8 kg!! I'm not going to count that as 'official' until I weigh myself next Monday but it's very encouraging all the same. No headache and I slept like a log too...
Onward and downward.
