Good morning Thursday fasters. I have had a poached egg with toast so far, black coffee. Planning light meals today - lunch, salad maybe, and chicken and vegetable soup for dinner, made from the remains of a roast chicken. Feeling a bit 'coldy' so taking preventative measures and need to take them with food. So far I have escaped the winter wogs but I must keep up the fight as I cannot afford to get sick. Who else is fasting today?
I missed you on Monday, @Sallyo, but I'm here today! I've also started the day with an egg and coffee. I'll try to get through the day on coffee and a miso soup later. Then, I need to clean the fridge of some things about to go off: cottage cheese and stir fry broccoli for me tonight. I think I need to go through the recipe books and come up with a more interesting plan going forward!
3.30pm: had a salad of cabbage, celery, apple and salmon with a spoon of mayonnaise tossed through. Very satisfying and probably not very calorific. Going well. I think eating through the day is going to suit me at the moment as long as i keep off the wine, desserts, carbs at dinner time. Time to get busy making soup. I have been blowing out in the late afternoon and evening lately because of getting desperately hungry. It is important not to get bored, @MaryAnn, I have found that.
Hi sallyo I've found the thread!!! It's 7am here and I'm ready to face the day. I downloaded the 5 2 app and have gone for two of the recipes . one is hot and sour mushroom soup. I made it yesterday 23 Cal's per portion and fresh tuna stirfry for tonight 240 Cal's so I have enough Cal's to play with. I brought some miso soup and thought I might have an egg white omlette for breakfast.
Weather here is grey and humid not what it should be fo July.
I expect your day is coming to an end, hope you were strong enough to stay off the wine and desert!!!!!!! Have a good night
@Sallyo@MaryAnn I'm on leave today and Friday and for once it's very nice not to be dashing out of the door on a fast day. I was hoping to have a good sleep in but woke before 6am and now onto my second cuppa .......no plans to eat my chicken salad till supper. Sallyo I hope you fend off the cold. It's quiet here today, anyone else joining us?
Happy fastday :clover:
Hi @Brendajay just seen your post. Welcome to todays fasting thread and good luck with your first fast! I love the sound of the hot and sour mushroom soup........ How are you spending your day? I am on leave but have a list as long as my arm of things to catch up and DO. Time for a glass of chilled sparkling water.
I'm in!
Busy day today...my slate tiles for the kitchen floor are being delivered, all 500kg of them! It's going to be warm too.
Happy fasting everyone x
I'm in today - starting to repair the horrible damage done by our Fortnum & Mason meet-up, followed by a party ... followed by 2 days eating on trains & staying in Yorkshire in a pub whose manager said the restaurant 'didn't do delicate' (steaks the size of a tea plate, mushrooms the size of a saucer!) ... followed by an 'Awayday' for work which was probably the worst of all for calories and ended (as had the F&M meet-up) with scones with jam & cream.
For one brief day before all this I achieved my Summer Challenge target. Now I have to see if I can get back there by the end of the month!
Good luck all.
I'm in too with some hard work to do. Lost weight while on holiday and put it all back on plus more in the last week. Don't know where I've gone wrong other than one day had two or three dry cracker biscuits to stave off diabetic warning symptoms. 13g of oat/rye muesli this morning, miso at lunch (must have something to eat or go hypo), then 5:2 recipe chilli this evening. My medial team did say I could try this with the proviso of having a small amount of carb food with medication. I try to go for low GI and other than the day earlier this week it has gone well. On a positive note another centimetre off waist line.
I am still trying to discover how to start a topic, what am I not seeing?
I am also fasting today, Sallyo, and others. I tried fasting on Tuesday, but didn't quite manage to the end. First time for me not managing a fast day. Today I haven't eaten anything yet, and it is nearly 3 pm. We have guests at the moment so this is not going to be my strictest fast... They'll be going next week and it'll be boot camp for me then.....
Good luck to all and sundry!
Well done @brendajay, you made it here. I did well. Chicken and veg soup is a very good fasting day dinner. So satisfying. Now my day is done and I'm off to bed. Have a good day everyone who is still in day time.
@rieson to post a new topic select 'jump to forum' at the bottom of the page you are on, select the forum you want to post a new thread to, at the top left you will see a blue button 'post a new topic' ......... and you're off  I'm sure the scales will start to behave as a further 1cm down indicates you are in weight loss mode. It's past lunchtime here and all is good, drinking lots of water. I'll have a miso soup a little later and then approx. 335 cals for supper as I want to ensure I hit my weekly maintenance goal tomorrow after Fortnum and Mason and the cocktails. @WarriorPrincess what a week you have eaten  Must say my body was in shock on Sunday from the carbs and sugar intake.
LizBean. thank-you for the advice.
I'm in today too...feeling lonesome though, seems that I'm usually the last poster on Mon/Thur fasting threads, and considering it's only just after noon here, it's not too late for the Brits...

Just having my pot o' green tea, will have broth later and late afternoon snack, then probably a big salad (summer here). Had been having some low cal popcorn on light days, but lately have been unable to stop once started. So I had a thought: If I take the big bag and put portions in small ziploc bags...that should do it.

@Sallyo, I too have been getting a little out of control from waiting too long to eat; think I might try a poached egg to forestall panic eating later. I find those very satisfying for less than 100 cals, and the lack of carbs won't set off the Hunger Monster.
