I'm doing a kind of fast today. Tonight there are drinks and nibbles for an end of year celebration for work. And then I'm going to a film night where there will be more drinks and nibbles. So my plan is to fast this morning and then eat lightly this afternoon before the 'drinks and nibbles' or I might pig out on nibbles if I come at them from a fasting state. The film is a 1960s film of They Found a Cave, based on an Australian Children Book of the Year for 1960 something. It's set in Tasmania. These people are having old movie nights in their home cinema. It will be fun and I have long wanted to see this film. So it's going to be a light day today rather than a proper fast. Fair enough at this time of year. Any one else?
I'll be there in the morning. I'm all out of kilter this week because I've changed my fast days. I'm having trouble remembering what day it is.
I am here as well as it was too difficult for me to fast yesterday and tomorrow will be a bit tricky. I am like you, @Lil and a bit confused on which day it is. I don't know why but I was pretty sure yesterday was today (so Thursday) and so put my plastics to be picked up outside.... The good news is, except for some salad and some Brussels sprouts - I can only find big packages of 1kg and I am not dedicated enough to eat 1 kg Brussels sprouts - I have everything I need for the end of the year and maybe the whole January as well !

So tonight will be soup, already made as I needed to make some room in my tiny freezer so used the veg I needed, and I have about 1l of yummy courgettes soup waiting for me

Good luck to us all ! :clover:
Yea, I am fasting with you Sallyo, and others. Only about a week left of my Advent fast. And I've lost about 3 kilos  . I could do losing an other 3 kilos yet. I guess I was really really enjoying not much fating before Advent  .
As the situation is as it is I'll have to be extra careful at Christmas time. I am quite used to not eating breakfast or lunch now, so maybe I'll continue with that.
No snow outside :frown: . It is dark and depressing and raining at 14:00.
In an hour's time I can have afternoon tea
:clover: Hope we all make today OK.
I'm in. Protein shake for lunch and then something light for dinner tonight -- I still need to figure out what. Then tomorrow I start baking holiday cookies >.< Those are always a pitfall for me.
Even with this weekend brioche baking in the oven and the wonderful smell that goes with it, it's an easy fast today. I had a small bowl of soup and I don't think I will be able to eat everything tonight, it has thickens since yesterday so the 1 litre looks like 2 litres which is a lot, even for me !
A bit like Mandeley.. I thought it was Thursday yesterday (this morning) and woke up thinking I'd already fasted  anyway, despite that, I've got through the day fine.. just had slim noodles and turkey for dinner, and had boiled some eggs as I thought my dinner wouldn't fill me up.. but it did! I'm up to 350cals so if I do need an egg, I have some cals left over..

Hope everyone else ok :clover:
What is it about today - I've fasted without posing here because I believed there wasn't a fasting today thread - its Friday today & the most recent thread was for Thursday! Nearly there now though - I shall have one more satsuma to see me through the evening & go to bed praying for the 0.75lb loss tomorrow (Friday!) morning that will see me to my Xmas Challenge target & allow me to begin (o.k., continue but without restriction) the annual pig-out that is Xmas!
Its going to be very hard to go to work tomorrow isn't it!
I haven't posted on a "Fasting today" thread in ages!

I've kept up doing about 3 a week, though I am not so strict with calories, getting usually about 700. I am strict about sweets, but I usually have half a glass of wine at the end of the day, and have more calories at lunch than I used to.

Anyway... good luck today, everyone!
I'm in today as usual, just shy of 2:30 here, have had only water/coffee/tea. Amazing how one can anticipate a cup of broth and hardboiled egg more than a big meal! I posted elsewhere that I realize I need to control my normal days more; am going to try some of the strategies in the "Eating Lab" book I told y'all about, in particular "get alone with a vegetable" by starting normal day meals with a salad. Plus, rearranging my work area (at home) to not have a bunch of goodies within reach. And making sure I don't go the store hungry; I always think it doesn't matter, but I tend to buy too much and things I wouldn't if I weren't hungry. And then I have to eat them, right? Can't let them go to waste...
It went really well, the soup was lovely and I wasn't hungry all day even with the wonderful smell around me. However, I fell asleep really early, around 08:30PM and so, at 04:17AM, I am awake, and I really hate that. I have no clue why I get to sleep that early on my fast days, it used to be the opposite...
