Hi Mary Lynn @MLCDz
Sorry to hear that you feel a bit disheartened - understandable when you haven't had any weight loss for a couple of weeks. :(
There are many more experts on this WOL than me, but the general advice is to give this WOE time - you have lost almost 3kgs since you started, so it may be that in the last couple of weeks your body has just been adjusting.
You may have lost fat (it can get replaced by water) or inches - if you haven't taken body measurements, photo, found a pair of jeans that you hope to get into, then it's worth doing so now. It's useful to have different measures of fat loss!
Liking how you feel on this plan is great! :) :) That is a good reason to stick with it!
There will be some people for whom this WOL doesn't work, but for the vast majority, if you follow the "rules", the weight should come off. The rate of loss does vary considerably - have a look at people's progress trackers to give you an idea of the variability.
Have a good look around the forum for ideas that will help you - try the search function as there are so many posts now it is impossible to keep up with them all!
Do continue to use the forum for advice and support.
Very best wishes for your continued journey and I really hope you will look back in a year's time and smile :)
Cheers! :D
PS would love your recipe for the mushroom and leek soup.
Thank you, Sassy. Appreciate the support & encouragement. Could be that nothing has ever worked for me because I never stuck to anything for more than a month... As of today I will commit to at least 3 months - that makes February 21. 5:2 is actually easy to do, sooo I will! Did take a waist measure when I started, so will use that as a reference point as well.
I think I got this recipe off this forum somewhere & tweaked it a bit.
Per serving: 1 leek, sliced, 1 c. sliced assorted mushrooms, 1 vegetable broth cube & 2 cups water or 2 cups ready made broth. And a shake of pepper. Put all in a pot, bring to a boil, boil gently for at least 20 minutes (I usually do 45-60 to get the leeks really soft.) That's it. It's really helped me on my fast days. I entered the recipe in MFP to get the calorie count.
Well, I bailed on the no-calorie day. Still, a cup of miso soup and half a cup of split pea soup and some salad greens isn't much, certainly less than 200 calories.

Maybe if I cut my toenails that would help with the weighing in the morning?
