Morning, all. I'm in today. I went to Adelaide for a week to have a memorial picnic for my mother and to scatter her ashes. It was great. I didn't fast and ate out at some great places, Greek, Malaysian, Italian. It was all fabulous. I travelled back with my son, grand daughter and OH and we had to drive through Melbourne peak hour traffic on the freeway which was very brave, as we are country mice. Well that's all behind me now and it's back on the straight and narrow. Fasting. About to have my morning black coffee. It's cauliflower soup for dinner as I picked my first cauliflower yesterday. It's beautiful. Who else is here today?
Im here,@Sallyo well done on the Melbourne peak hour, next challenge try the Sydney traffic
We're having some work done in the yard, paths etc so I have a yard full of trucks, machines and men. I have sensibly decided to escape to work.
No, @Wineoclock, Sydney peak hour is way out of my league. I never will go there! It's just past 3.30pm and the day is going ok. I just had a bit of a break out because someone had left the bread, mettwurst, hummus and butter on the bench. I had a thin slice of bread, butter and vegemite and a rice cracker type biscuits with hummus and 2 thin slices of mettwurst. Now I have put it all away and the cauliflower soup is happening. It will be an early dinner. So comforting, soup.
I'm in and rushing off to work. Nice to see you back Sallyo.
Good luck everyone :clover:
Hi all, I'm in too. After 4 weeks of work events (with attached yumminess!) I'm back on the straight & narrow. Except not very narrow, which is the point! Tuesday's fastday resulted in a 2lb loss, bringing me back to a very acceptable weight, from which I can resume my less than rapid progress. No work today, lovely weather & only 3.5 hours till my lunchtime soup. Yea!
Hi, I just finished my first fast day and am amazed at how decent I feel. I swear I feel more alert than usual. Looking forward to my weigh in after 6 more days :)
I am also fasting today, SallyO, and others. It is my maintain 6:1 fast.
To my amazement I was 52.2 kg this am. Well within my 1 kg bracket. I am having very small lunches every day. Does that help me to maintain??? My lunch is, thin low-carb, sourdough, full-rye slice of bread. Spread with butter and Marmite. And then a cup of coffee with some milk. All suppers are with Hubby, but me having other veg than boiled potatoes or rice.
I have only had black tea so far today. No lunch today. For supper we're having Chinese Chow Mein (home made) and I am having the white part of Chinese leaf as my 'rice'. Will my maintenance finally work this time round????
Wishing you all success with you fasting!
Not a good start this morning as I didn't seem to have lost any weight. But hey! 1cm off waist and then news that blood test for Hba1c down 4 points. Now with a positive attitude to continue as my mood is much more cheerful.
I am in today, too. Since maintaining, I have found that the Monday fasts seem be easier after an indulgent weekend but the Thursday fasts recently seem to have ended up more like 600-700 cal days. It is now one a clock and whilst most fast days I can go without any food until the evening, today I got hungry at midday and I have eaten a whole cucumber and tomato (nothing else with it). Will have some boullion in a minute and hope to stay within about 500.
I'm here! Hello to all who are fasting today! Welcome @Redpigeonand @rieson, you both sound as if you have made a brilliant start! :victory:
Good to hear from you @SallyOand @WarriorPrincess after your little break.
A whole cucumber, @Ieramul? That surely takes some eating!
I have eaten nothing yet today and then, as it's such a lovely day, I will probably have soup and a salad later. No dinners to cook for my husband this week, so that makes things a lot easier.
To everyone, may your fast be easy and your spirit be strong! Onwards and downwards, folks!
I'm in for my usual Thursday light day; not quite 2pm here, so haven't had any cals yet, just coffee, water, and green tea. Will have fiber soon, broth later, dinner much later. Trying to not get too excited; my friend has actually asked for my advice on how to 5:2; hopefully he'll take it to heart; he said he wanted to lose 65 lbs by August...not 5:2 style! (He's lost and regained several times, current BMI 34+, so he really needs a sustainable plan, not a crash diet.)
