Ok so Bean is back with a vengeance this morning! Weighed myself and discovered I've put on 3 pounds after a terrible week of over-eating! Tuesday's fast was going so well - until I ate my evening meal - oh boy the floodgates opened (in the form of my rather large mouth) and all sorts of cereal were consumed! Right! Today I must make amends. I'm going to try and leave my meal until the very last moment - and then go to bed!
Anyone joining me today?
Here goes!
Bean :starving: :dazed:   :?:
Hello Bean!

I'm doing 16:8 right now...so will definitely be with you in spirit...and hoping today goes well for you...with no cereal incidents!

Good plan to go to bed! Staying up late is my downfall because that's when I eat things I shouldn't. Can't do that once I've brushed my teeth and am tucked up! Also, whenever my thoughts turn to food...the kettle goes on and I distract myself with a lovely cuppa....

Will check the forum later to hear how well you've done! Good luck Terrific Thursdayers :like: xx
Oh thanks Hazel @Hazelnut20! I shall think of you when that kettle goes on - many, many times!!
Bean
Hi there
I am in for my Thursday fast with a slight twist. This morning I had to be out and about in chilly and very wet weather, trains, walking in the rain, etc and it was not the sort of morning for fasting. So, once I got back to my work, and had something hot for lunch ( a meat pie!) to take the chills away I decided I would do a post midday to midday fast. There is someone on here who does that regularly (can't remember who), so I am going to try it. So just cups of tea this afternoon and tonight, and my breakfast will be my "lunch" - just something small less than 100 cals, and lunch will be my fast day "dinner" - 250 -300 cals or so. Then Friday night dinner I will eat normally. I will see how this goes!
I hope your fast goes well @Nursebean Would you like to borrow the Kitchen is Closed sign!
I'm in today for my 2nd fast of the week
Definitely not feeling myself today (not ill) and certainly not in the mood for fasting, but I know if I eat, I'll eat for England :frown: and I'll regret it when I step onto my scales in the morning.....wish me luck
Good luck to you all today
Just here to wish you good luck for today's fast :clover:

I may join you next week, I am thinking of changing my fast days every other week, just to keep things interesting
Hi all from cold and wet melbourne, my second fast for the week it's sometimes Wednesday and sometimes Thursdays,I leave all my cals for dinner which is hard because it's hard to stop eating once I start but I have been doing ok,I think I sometimes under eat,I usually just google to find out calories.
Two litres of water during the day then cups of tea after dinner at night, but look forward to eating breakfast in the morning which is usually in the car on the way to work,I need to do this I am really hoping to reduce my cholesterol and loosing weight is a bonus, has anyone else reduced cholesterol doing 5.2???
All the best to everyone
Hi, all and a special welcome to @Newgirl. I'm fasting today but this is the first time I have been able to get on the computer. I had my usual piano accordion group this morning and then I have been busy with other stuff, so that's brilliant from a fasting point of view - keeping busy, busy, busy! Only black tea all day but dinner to look forward to in another three and a half hours. Yum!
Just poppin to say hope this fast has bean a good one for everyone involved.
Am waiting for 7 pm with bated breath to have my 500 cals! X
Ps @manderleythanks for yr encouragement x
Just wanted to tell ypu i asked son in law about yr old employees...he didnt recognise the name but if you want to pm me the address maybe it wd jog his memory ( tho its a long shot really! ) x
How wonderful to see I'm not alone after all! I still haven't eaten yet and there's 20 mins to go before 7!! Better hurry up if the kitchen is to close at 8!
Well done everyone

@Candicemarie, a few days ago I found some old postcards I received when I was in England and there was the name of the couple, well hers anyway, Mrs Westrup and it was 4 Arundel Road. They had a huge cat, and I mean HUGE, at least 10 kg and he barely could go through the cat door.

I know it's a long shot, thanks for trying anyway. That's a shame I didn't stay in touch with them when I came back home, really.
I'm in today, not quite noon here so still working on my pot o' green tea. The store finally got my favorite green tea back in, so I'm enjoying that (Rishi Jade Cloud). @Manderley, you say you don't like green tea; I used to think that myself, till I learned how to brew it properly, and found a variety I enjoy. This one is rather sweet and not too vegetal; it's very important to make sure your water temp is right and you don't overbrew (this one is 3 minutes, many are less). And I use the leftover (since I use loose and seldom rebrew) for a facial toner; put in a little spray bottle; and yes, I brew that much longer.

I've had issues with controlling my eating later in the evening on light days myself. Somehow just exercising willpower isn't working as well... Unfortunately, I can't go to bed early, as I have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (night owl; cannot sleep earlier than my usual bedtime of midnight or later...even midnight can be challenging). Watching TV isn't so great, as it's full of food adverts. I think I'm going to try planning for a "treat" late in the evening, so I won't go crazy eating something seemingly legal that I then overeat... I think I'll pick up a box of my favorite light day treat (Julie's frozen fudge bars; no junk or artificial stuff and only 100 cals each). Somehow having it already portioned out helps me control myself.
I'm a green tea drinker @ferretgal! Mine takes just 2 mins to brew - its delish!
I take my hat off to you that you can fast when you can't go to bed until, well, the next day - well done!
I've bean very good today. I've only had 368 calories and then closed the kitchen. I think the trick is to eat as late as poss. Tomorrow I'm having salmon with new potatoes and mint (from my garden) - and I can't wait!!
Well done everyone - tomorrow will soon be upon us
Bean  xx
I was here yesterday but had a super hectic day and didn't get on to the forum. Fast day was going so well until I made some salted caramel fudge for Biggest Morning Tea at work today. I must admit I licked the bowl rather too enthusiastically, and then I had to try a couple of pieces before I put them in the tupperware box....

Oh well, tomorrow is another day! or in fact, today is another day...
