Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.

Surely I'm not the only one? I really need comrades in arms today - returned to the 5/2 fold with high hopes a week ago, had 2 successful fast days (successful in that I successfully kept to minimal calories) and cut vast amounts of sugar from my diet (replacing with non-sugary calories) to see what happened ... and put ON weight. Huh! I have a sparkly new daily weight trendline, begun last Thursday, that slopes UP!
Oh waily waily!
(I'm trusting in the process and guessing that Japanese rice crackers may have caused water retention - does anyone have a view on that one?)

Anyway, onward with the black coffee and looking forward to my veg soup lunch. Good luck to anyone else fasting today.
Oh deary me... just the 2 of us so far then :?: this my 8th fast since returning a month ago, and today has been/is the hardest since I started, I think it's a combination of tiredness and not having drunk enough water today, so I shall slurp some down now and hope that it fills this weird emptiness I'm feeling!! I'm looking forward to Slim noodles and prawns for dinner, and probably a couple of boiled eggs on the side to up my protein. Til then, water, and distractions!!
Helloooo newbie here, on my third week. Second fast day of the week today. I like to save myself for my tea but hubby was on an afternoon shift today so had main meal at lunch. Threw me right off. Thank goodness for veggie soup :) Hope it's gone smoothly for everyone else.
Oh dear, @WarriorPrincess, don't you just hate it when that happens! It has taken me quite a while to learn not take weight gain, after eating what should have led to a loss, personally! I have been through the 'It's not fair, I've been really good, so I am going to eat everything in sight' stage and come out on the other side with a 'Well, I know that I've eaten less than my body needs, so something, somewhere will lead to a loss, so I've just got to wait it out!'
It may have been the Japanese crackers because they're quite carby and salty, aren't they, or it could be that you're eating slightly more than you should be on your non-fast days? If it's not either of these then you will just have to try and be as philosophical as possible and wait for the magic to happen!
@chichi13, congratulations on your eighth fast! I remember when you were both here before and did so well. Keeping hydrated is very important but I'm afraid that all fasts are not the same and some go much more easily than others. If only we could pinpoint why!
Congratulations to both of you on your return and I'll toast your continuing success with a cup of black tea ! :coffee:
