Every day there will be a new topic in this forum for today's fasters to chat & support each other.
Please don't make extra threads in here besides the daily fasting threads, if you've got a question please post it in the relevant forum or ask in today's 'Fasting Today' thread, thank you.
But I have done *really* well on cutting my carb intake this week.
Hope everyone else fairing well (assuming there are more than 3 of us in this today - must be!)
I'm here, yes I'm very late in registering, just through the door from work. I ate at lunchtime - south Indian tomato spice soup and mango with lime - 250cals. As it's late and I have no appetite I'll leave it at that, no use me waking up the hungry monster!
@chichi13 congrats on your 10th fast! That's about the time I thought this is for sure my way. Coming up two years on, I'm still here. This journey forms part of my life long yellow brick road.
December is rough -- too many holiday parties and people are busy.
I wasn't perfect today. I overate a little, but I made it to dinner without eating, so that's good. I roasted a huge tray of brussels sprouts and had a LOT. My son wanted carbonara because my husband is away, so I gave in and made it. I only had a small dish, but I'm sure between that and the veggies. I'm over. Oh well, at least I got maybe a 20 hour fast in.
Side Note: I have cut way way way way back on Sugar since Monday morning and I"m doing really well with it. Shockingly!
MisterChew wrote: On my 2nd session of fasting, today was alot better than my first fast in terms of overall mood and pains. Hopefully my body will adjust better as I get more sessions in. Unfortunately, I feel non-functional on my fast days, like I just want to sit around and do nothing. Just had my last meal, and I am definitely below my calorie restriction for today. So far so good! Hope everyone is having a wonderful evening.
There's definitely an adjustment. But it starts getting easier. Not easy, mind you, but easier. And as you do more on a fast day, you realize you really can function normally on a fast day. My husband does regular workouts on fast days and feels it helps suppress his appetite for several hours. So he works out at lunch time instead of eating. I personally am not up for more than a 1 mile walk. But I find staying busy helps keep my mind off of food.
