Hi All

Just coming to the end of a good fast day. It was much needed after the indulgences of the last few days, and to be honest, the last couple of months!
I finished up full time work last Friday - my choice - to move into part time, semi retirement. The process of making that decision, finding a part time job, then finishing my full time work with some emotional farewells all led to zero fasting in that time.
So 2017 is the start of a new way of life for me after 40 years full time work., and I am ready to get back to 5:2. I have felt really sluggish and have missed having my 2 fast days.
Today was some miso soup around 2pm, and a light meal of a vegi delight patti (meat substitute) with salad, and a peach with a dollop of yogurt.
Good luck to anyone else having a post-Christmas Fast! :reindeer:

cheers
Hi @MerryMelb

Congratulations on making the move from full-time to part-time work (how part-time?). Hopefully this will help with making other changes in your life - you will have more time to look after your health and well-being.

Sounds like you feel a lot better for the fast day too. I also planned a fast day, but it ended up just a light day. That's okay. I had severely overindulged the day before, but by evening I was hungry and I allowed myself a few extras.

It's a bit of a wild morning here in Melbourne, isn't it? But weren't we lucky with Christmas Day?

Very best wishes for your fresh start! :clover:
Thank you for your support @Sassy1.

Very weird Melbourne weather....sitting here wondering if it will rain as it is still dry in the northern burbs.
I went to my first Boxing Day Test which was fun, and I am glad it wasn't nearly as hot as predicted. The rain is making it a very slow Test. (for our US friends - a cricket test goes for 5 days! This one is now in the 3rd day with many rain delays. You have to really like cricket to sit it out  )

My part time job is 2 days a week, plus some odd shifts thrown in when people are away and across the weekends. Not too onerous. I am really looking forward to it, and for having some energy to do things other than work :rainbow:

Did you venture to the Sales?

cheers
Hi again @MerryMelb!

Your part-time hours sound good. Any plans for what you will do with all the extra non-paid time you have?!

I didn't go to the sales as such, though I have been to the shops today for things that have benefited from some discounts. It wasn't too busy. What about you?

Windy and sunny now. We have had a tiny bit of rain. I think western Vic has scored most of the downpour so far.

We have the cricket on at home, but have not ventured to the actual match. Good for you for going - it is a Boxing Day tradition of course.

I have been fasting today too!! Wednesday is a usual day to fast, if I need, as I am busy all day. I thought a second light day is in order, as I did eat so much on Monday, and we are having friends for lunch tomorrow, and I know I will indulge in all the leftover Christmas goodies.

Cheers too!
