I'm in too. My third fast-day and the most difficult so far. Great to hear that people all over the world are joining in. And amazing, as I look out at the grey cold rainy weather here in France, that somewhere in the world people are having to eat gazpacho to cool down and look after their wilting plants.
Good luck to all of you
Corinne
Not fasting today, but thinking of you all... I've just had a rollmop herring with a tomato and some cucumber!
I'm in today as well - I had a friend over for the weekend and she didn't leave until last night, which meant rearranging our fasting schedule.

I have this on the stove for tonight: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/chili-w ... 001687650/ I have found that cooking in the afternoon on a fast day makes me grumpy and hungry, so when possible, I try to do it the day before or in the morning, when I'm not really hungry yet anyway. In a few minutes, I will turn off the stove/hob and let it cool and pop it in the fridge until tonight :-)
Doing my fast today in the cold West Midlands, so far so good, mind you this is only my third this year.
I am in too, although I'm feeling hungry already so this one may prove difficult! Good luck everyone! :)
Hi - me too - my very first so hope I am allowed to come in and play
So far so good here........... brekkie was bowl of porridge with skimmed milk - OK it was oats so simple but still skimmed milk! had 1/3 can of spring veg soup - which I worked out to be about 45 calories and having a slice of nimble lightly toasted for main evening meal with two poached eggs and lots of salt and pepper...... not feeling too bad so far.
Is there anywhere on here where members have given ideas of what to eat for newbies??
I am late posting up today but on the Fasting wagon and the end is in sight!
No food yet for me but have had 2 x coffee with a splash of milk.
Looking forward to my cajun salmon and steamed purple sprouting broccoli later.
Going to try to get to the gym before that happens!
Good luck all. I am NEVER going to shift this Christmas indulgence!!! Too many chocs around the house still!!
I'm in today, though late to the thread. So far I've only had milk in my tea for 4 mugs, so not much and I'm hoping to finish today with just a liquid fast. I'm off to the gym in a few minutes, I don't normally do well on Tuesdays as its very late into the fast and the energy levels are pretty low. I have finally managed to finish off the Christmas cake and most of the chocolate has now been eaten at long last.

Tomorrow I am going to tackle my fasting fatigue with some slap up meals with lots of protein and veg, to hopefully knock me off this long slow plateau.
Just burned 500kcal in the gym!! :victory:
Someone send me a cyber high five!!
Me too! 3rd since Christmas and very hard, felt cold and hungry all day despite having miso soup with konjac nodles at 'lunch time!
I was doing well, until my son said Mum, its 174 kcals and its the last one, do you want it. The last Cherry Bakewell tart? He's knows me so well does my son. So I went over by 110kcals.
Wow yesterday was tough,

I had 50g of fururelife porridge in the morning and then an early dinner of grilled yellowtail and a bit of undressed salad.

But then around 20h00 I couldn't anymore and gobbled a slice of bread with Bovril spread.

Around 01h30 this morning I woke feeling rather odd and struggled to sleep again.

I did run 5km early yesterday morning so maybe I should avoid that on fast days?

I am trusting you guys that this will get easier. :geek:
Hi and welcome Brian1.

It will get easier! I tend to avoid running on fast days, I don't mind doing one at the end of the fast so that I can eat as I tend to get hungry after exercise. Walking works better for me personally, but I know others enjoy exercising on down days - whichever suits you.
